To become a Muslim you only have to say "there is no god but God and Muhammad is a prophet of God. You have to believe what you say and say it in Arabic
The best thing is to research the religion and read a translation of the Quran. Go to your local mosque and talk to people especially the Imam or religious leader
Sorry you feel that way I studied for 10 years before I converted

what does that even mean??? be more specific please.
and btw Islam is all about qualities.
when someone decides to convert muslims always try to make you read and know about the religion before you take such step.
so it's not about numbers entering islam!!
yea it requires a few minutes to say the shihada but it takes a life time to be a true muslim.

It takes a few mintues to pronouce the words of Testimony...
You have to testify that There is no God/Diety worthy of worship but God (alone) and Muhammad his the last messenger of God...
You say it in arabic as well...Ashadu an La illaha illa Allah wa Ashadu ana Muhammad rasoull Allah.
Ashadu = I testify
La means NO..Not
illaha = diety/God
illa = except
Allah = God in Arabic...This is not moon God as the previous answerer ignorantly mentioned. Christian arabs use the word Allah to refer to God. Allah is older word than 'God'...Arabic is older than english. It literally means Al- The illa- Diety...another words The Only God.
Muhammad - This is the Last of the messenger amongst the many Messengers of God...Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus peace and blessings be upon them all..We follow the last Messenger (saw)
Rasoul Allah = Messenger of God...
Then you are a Muslim = one who sincerely 'submits' to God alone.
It is preferable to openly declare your faith to witnesses.
After that all you start from a clean plate and your sins are erased. You still have to do the 5 pillars of Islam and understand the 6 articles of faith. There is a difference between being a Muslim and being a Mumin (true Believer). A true believer follows and obeys the commands of God and His Messenger and is steadfast in his good actions. There lies the difference. So the religion teaches quality of worship but still we have the quantity. No one can cover the truth up.
Read the Koran (Quran) and you will understand what is true worship. You will learn about God, Messengers, Last day, Purpose of Life...Don't listen to media or ignorant people who seek to hide the truth. Visit islamonline.net to read more Peace be upon you.

contained in the accurate, it truly is amazingly between you and Allah. i understand lots of those who're unable to wish 5 circumstances an afternoon or pick no longer to. i do not choose human beings about how in many circumstances or how properly they pray. Salat potential "contact prayer" ... it truly is a time when we come into contact with the loved One. God did not create the prayers to burden us. The prayers are a present. they offer us 5 sessions in the course of the day to get re-based in our faith. i imagine the perfect ingredient so that you could do is take your question to Allah. Pray about it. No opinion yet his concerns. absolutely everyone that tells you in the different case is inaccurate. Peace.

islam is all about SUBMISSION.
Knowledge is not required because all that is required to know is in the Q.
islam is dedicated to making all SUBMIT to their moon god - so QUANTITY is involved.
