You said God. Most Christians when they say savior they mean JEZZUS AH! I think it was the way that we were raised. I was brought up to believe in God ... without church or bible study. The concept of God stuck ... but it was hard to embrace JEZZUS! When I was a child I also believed in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy .... but they were all discredited. I read the bible cover to cover when I was an adult ... and It didn't match my concept of God. That's wasn't the loving God that I had created for myself in my own imagination. I don't buy into the bible ...but I do believe in the God concept.

There are people that say they have a relationship with God, they have been touched by God. Who knows if this is real or if people are just so desperate to believe in something. I was an atheist for twelve years. I am now currently agnostic. What's the difference you ask... well an atheist does not believe in any higher being. An agnostic believes in a higher being just not "God" or "Buddha" or anything along those lines. People don't believe in God because there is so much proof pointing toward his non-existence. For instance, dinosaurs. How did they get here? The bible says the first animal God created was cattle and dinosaurs sure don't look like cattle to me. My point is some people believe in God some people don't. That's the beauty about being human, you can choose to believe what you want. People should not be judged for what they do or do not believe.

I posted this to basicly the same question . . .

* So many versions of Christianity, many disagree with each other
* the hatred I see coming from most main stream religions, including Christianity
* Humans chose which canons to include in the official version(s) of the Bible
* no proof there is a God
* the trinity
* Most Christianity has Pagan roots, deny all you want
Christmas (Odin's night ride and/or Mithra), Easter (Oster), etc . . .
* How it "may" be interpreted - Lucifer is a savior from the stupidity of lack of knowledge of the Garden of Eden, and the progenator of human kind
* Noah's ark - with the dimensions given; how could there be a pair of every species.
* The Midevil Church fleecing of the far Western Teritories of Europe
* New American Evangelists spewing complete hatred
* burning of other peoples, remember Salem?
* The Egyptian god figure Horus was said to have been born of the virgin Isis on December 25
* A hateful God by his/her own definition

Hail Jesus, ummm, Mithra?

Just some arguments that can be made against believing in the Christian God

"In every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own."

-Thomas Jefferson, letter to Horatio G. Spafford, March 17, 1814

I don't understand it either because I have always been a believer. I can't believe how many people out there, just that i've seen online are so quick to slam God and Christianity. I pray that the right person cross their paths and show them the truth. A God-less life sounds miserable because for those who dont believe, life has no promise of tomorrow and the end is truly the end. God promises eternity in heaven to those who don't reject him, but accept him. To those who don't believe...."What if God IS real?" Dont take that chance by rejecting him. He is real.

You could sit there and ask that question, completely baffled that some people don't believe in god, but plenty of people could turn around and look at you, completely baffled that you DO believe in a god. Stop being so close-minded thinking that it's totally amazing that some people are non-religious. It may be right for you, but not for others and no quote of a bible verse or curse of going to hell will convince those others, especially when they think that's all nonsense anyway.

there are so many people who say there isn't a God in heaven because if there was he wouldn't have made the world this way. People need to realize we made the world this way. God knew what he was doing from the beginning. If you study the Bible God created Light first, but it wasn't the sun. It was the light of the world Jesus. Who is our savior.

God may very well be your lord and savior. That doesnt make him everyones. And certainly not mine. Maybe the people you are talking to don't want to believe in God. For christians the bible makes it abundantly clear that many will die and go to hell. Though I think that is a load of crap, for believers....start believing it. Leave people alone that don't want to hear your "truth". When you shove your beliefs down others throats it is no better than what Osama does.

The reason is because satan is a lier and has tricked lots of people scooby, into believe that God is not real. I know its hard to hear so many say they dont believe, that it makes your heart hurt. But all you can do is show them truth through our lord and savior Jesus Christ. God Bless

I find it very difficult to rationalize why people think there IS a god. I don't feel any connection to a higher source, major religions are hypocritical, it just seems that were there to be a god, we couldn't ever understand "it", and god would be nothing like what major religions preach. It must be difficult if not impossible for you to understand, but I have no doubt that the "god" that any religion says exists does not. There may well be a higher source of power, but I do not attempt to understand it, much less please it by refraining from "sin".

They will all know one day, however that day may be too late.

It's so easy to fall into all the traps that the devil sets. I mean, the Gospel of Judas, all these myths, all these scientists trying to disprove its existance. And the people who essentialy have never met God seem to feed on themselves in this question and answer forum. They read these things that unbelievers have said, and they share the word of disbelief until it has grown into a cancer. If they would just believe a little bit, their faith could grow and blossom.
