someone recently post something about thou shalt not kill, i just want to point out that in the bible your supposed to kill your son/daughter if they talk back to you, and that your supposed to kill by punishment another man that has killed another man soo i just am pointing out one of thousands of flaws that the bible says, im not being rude but when a book says thou shalt not kill and has about 40 other scriptures that do say to kill, id throw that book away and find me another one

Please bear with me on this, this is a honest question. If in the bible, it commands that one shall not kill, what about all of our soldiers in the war? They fight for their country but is it God's will that they fight and kill for a country so conflicted in it's views right now? For every one of our soldiers who dies, do you think he/she goes to heaven or hell? For in America, it's an honor to fight, but by God's law it's not?
Somebody straighten this out for me, please.

I'm now an atheist, and was once a follower of Christianity, but even then I never got a clear answer on this (it may have been ignorance on my part). Did He physically tell man what to write, was it assumptions based on the teachings of Christ, or some other way? Unless God told them exactly what to write, I would think a good part of it was assumptions made by man. Can any Christians tell what this means?

this is sad but i dont pray i dont do anything dat my religion tells me too.....itz not dat i dont want too or have anythin against it...but im in an enviorment where my parents pray and they just stopp pushing me ...am i in danger here man o man ...and i just had sex before marriage ....i knew it was wrong but i couldnt control my self ...this might sounds silly but i can make it up to GOD ...

I have searched and searched but I can't find the bible passage that tells priests to molest little boys, blow up abortion clinics or murder women who get abortions, spread hate and intolerance across the world, wage war in the name of some boogeyman in the sky, and judge people based on sexual orientation or beliefs. I would love to find these. Maybe I can be born again.

Seriously, he told me that Mary cheated on her man and got knocked up. So, she told her hubby the baby was the son of god. Then, she stuck to her lie and convinced her son Jesus (pronounced HEY-SUS) that he was the son of god (pretty typical of people named Jesus) and that took his mind off the fact he was poor and had to wear ugly sandals all the time. Then, later he was nailed to a cross by some guy he stole hubcaps from and knocked up his teenage daughter. Then, just to make the story more hilarious. The story of jesus was so bastardized a new set of religions was formed where the leaders molested little kids, blew up innocent people in abortion clinics, and all this after centuries of murder in the name of God. Then, he laughed and told me Hell does exist. But, it is reserved for Christians. The rest of us just wander around haunting people.

Then I woke up from another night of hard drinking and realized I gotta lay off the tequila. Blasphemy and racism in one post. I am proud!

"Who would Jesus bomb?" From Hiroshima and Dresden to Vietnam and Cambodia to Iraq it seems that most of the Christian community (especially on the right) have condoned the killing of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians as a means to a political end. How does this fit in to a belief system based the words and teachings of Jesus who preached love and tolerance, said "turn the other cheek," refuted "an eye for an eye" and said "blessed are the peacemakers"? Does ultranationalism supersede religious morality and teachings?
