I'm now an atheist, and was once a follower of Christianity, but even then I never got a clear answer on this (it may have been ignorance on my part). Did He physically tell man what to write, was it assumptions based on the teachings of Christ, or some other way? Unless God told them exactly what to write, I would think a good part of it was assumptions made by man. Can any Christians tell what this means?

The bible was inspired by God, as were its authors. Some religious people may claim to hear the voice of God, but we have no proof that they really do. And history has shown that some of these people are con artists.

The bible wasn't put together until around 200 A.D. It was made up of a bunch of texts from various sources. But, all those sources were men. There isn't a gospel according to Jesus (yes I know the New Testament is supposed to be, but Jesus didn't write any of it).

Recently the Gospel according to Judas was found, but I doubt if it will ever make it into the bible.

When a historical account is judged by historians, they look for the source. If it was written by a person who was there, then they value that account more than one by a person who heard about it. Historical accounts that are written later are judged by their sources. If they use first person accounts then the account could be more accurate. However, all accounts, even from those who witnessed the event are colored by the personal views of the witness. This is the same for the bible, which means the bible should not be taken as the literal word of God.

The Bible was written in two parts. The first I'm sure you know is the Old Testament which is a reflection and a religious interpretation of the history of the people of Israel. The second part is the New Testament which is an account of Jesus' life. The New Testament is broken into sections: 1.)Gospels-Books that tell the story of the life of Jesus through the writers who did interviews and research to write them.(Mark, Matthew, Luke and John)
2.) Acts of the Apostles- The continuation of Luke's Gospel which tells the story of the origins of Christianity after the death and resurrection of Jesus through the time of Paul's preaching in Rome(approximately 35-64 C.E.)
3.)Letters-(21 addressed to a variety of Christian communities and individuals) Seven are written by Paul around 50-60 C.E.: 1 Thessalonians, 1&2 Corinthians, Philippians, Philemon, Galatians, and Romans. Three are written by Paul's disciple:Ephesians, Colossians, and Thessalonians. Three are known as pastoral letters written to pastors by one of Paul's desciples: 1 &2 Timothy and Titus. The letter to the Hebrews has no author but was decided by the church as "good info". Seven other letters are called Apostolic because they are attributed to Jesus' apostles: James, 1&2 Peter, 1,2&3 John, and Jude.
4.) Revelation: The apocalyptic account of the revelation to a Christian John from Christ. This is a very complicated and often misinterpreted. I hope this helps. I could go into much more detail so if you want more info I can Email you my study pages, but you should really invest in finding the truth before you just give up your own salvation.

God doesn't have a pencil or any paper. Nor does he have a typewriter, and he doesn't know how to use a computer.
In the olden days, when there were only a few dozen people, he could communicate with all of us hust by talking to us. Now that there are over six billion of us, that is no longer practicable.
He told Moses and the other people to write down what he said, so that eveybody could read it and he could reach all of us.
Basically, the writers of the Bible are all just God's secretaries.

As you read it, if you had been there, don't you think the next generation is going to want to know about it? WHO WAS FIRST? WHAT HAPPENED?
How much time from Adam #1 to Abraham #20? In 2083 Abraham is age 75 and he gets the covenant.
Now how long will it be before the covenant heirs are in the Peomised Land and safe from all the land pirates Abraham and Lot have to deal with.

As Abraham, wondered, where are my relatives and what is happening?
If he learns, others are going to want to know, and from the relatives, it was the same, so they recorded their life as it was happening and passed it down, So it was Same with them when God was dealing with them. They felt inspired to keep the line of information going and I for one am so thankful that they did.

Noah was asked by God to build an ark because the earth was filled with violence, so he recorded it. Abraham had 25 years to live, when the son of Noah died, The account
of these people is correct.
Abraham was asked to get away from all he was around.
He had a son Isaac at age 100, and let him know all the LORD expected of him.
Isaac had sons at age 60, by Jacob God would continue dealing with these people.
They were to be heirs to the Promised Land.
So 2553 years after Adam they were in the promised land. Judges were down to Samuel, and the people wanted a king, so Saul was king, then David, and Solomon to his death 3069 after Adam. Kings continue for the next 391 years, during this time many prophets have contact with God and direct the people down to 606 years to Christ, the time before Christ is the Old Testament books of 39 and Jesus is #62 in genealogy from Adam is born as SAVIOR. 2006 years ago at 6,072 after Adam. The 27 books after Christ Jesus are by the Apostles and is the New Testament.

Adam and Eve lost eternal life, their seed or offsprings have a temporary life, Jesus will restore the original plan for man to have eternal life.

All was perfect when Adam and Eve were created, and the cherub was anointed over Eden, all the perfection existing at that time was lost, but in 6,130 years when all the offsprings needed to fill the earth has come to be, also will be time that the anointed cherub turned Satan or against God, finds his time has expired.
He has 6,130 and were at 6072. Matt.24:3.36[ Only God of Jesus. Angels and all, knows the day and the hour ]. There will be a new heavens and a new earth.
Jesus will resurrect all in his 1000 year reign and make all as it was originally meant to be and give it back to God as perfect, all that is possible will be SAVED.

that's a mixture of issues. Over a era of 1500 years with about forty writers, there is absolute unity in each and every of the scriptures. Oh certain, there are those searching for blunders who in basic terms examine the parts they see as diverse. yet appeared at in context and standpoint, they stay harmonious. Then heritage, by the individuals, places and issues being the position the Bible says they were. Many loud talkers come alongside swearing up and down how this couldn't in all likelihood be authentic. Then someone digs up a pot or pill with a laundry receipt or something with the call on it proving existence. In technological expertise, although no longer a e book about technological expertise, it tells issues no human ought to recognize on the instantaneous. consisting of in Genesis, the order of creation formerly people is shown by technological expertise to be maximum proper. Who advised Moses? At job 28:7, the "earth is hung upon no longer something". This became at a time even as anybody knew that there have been columns and wide animals that carried the earth. Or Isaiah forty:22, "there is man or woman who's living above the circle of the earth" each and every man or woman in simple terms knew the earth became flat. That became a given. considered from area notwithstanding, from any route, it became a circle or ball. Neither job, Moses nor Isaiah were out in area looking decrease back in the international. God had. Then maximum seriously---prophecies. both advised and fulfilled in absolute component is the requirement. Isaiah forty 4-forty 5 supplies the prophecy of King Cyrus freeing Israel from Babylonian captivity. except it became written 2 hundred years formerly Cyrus became born 1000 miles away. yet there he's through call. Israel had no longer been conquered by all people. The reservoir had no longer even been planned that Cyrus ought to prefer to divert the river into to flow to the copper gates of the city. yet each and every component surpassed off as foretold. those are in simple terms some examples which instruct the Bible is Authored by the authentic maximum intense God. further, that God states that, "All Scripture is electrified of God and constructive for preparation, for reproving, for placing issues immediately, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the guy of God should be completely effective, thoroughly geared up for each solid paintings." One must first believe that there is a God. One then has to have faith that God protects His Word given to man through His Messenger - Jesus and guided by His Will. Though it may be "corrupted" by interpretation by those claiming to be learned, the intent of Bible - however it was derived or constructed - must be taken by faith that it is exactly as God intended. To belief otherwise would "imputeth the gravest injustice and tyranny to a gracious and loving Providence"1.

Based on the word of God...meaning that He sent his messages to the people in many ways...dreams and even angels...
the bible was dictated to those messengers that walked among us...
some of the books in the bible were written by people that lived in ancient time...the apostles of Jesus had written about the life of Jesus and the events that took place in those time...
plus if you don't believe what do you need an explanation...!

hmm good question. i'm a Christian and for one you can't understand everything God says in the Bible for some things until you get to heaven (if you've been saved of course). i dont really thing they're assumptions though... i believe God put in their mind/soul what to write so they'd have it in their head kinda, so i dont think He physically told them. well, i hope my answer may help a little.

the man who wrote the bible, wrote the words of God. What he said, the miracles he made, and things like that. He was being led by the Holy Spirit.
