Continuing in what can only be considered outright apostasy, June 19 was another in a series of dark days for the largest Presbyterian denomination in the U.S. At their national assembly held in Birmingham, Alabama, the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) affirmed the phrase "Mother, Child and Womb" as acceptable terminology when referring to the Holy Trinity. I feel sure that Dan Brown, author of DeV Code would be pleased!
Are you pleased?

I once met a guy who was risen from the dead. A bit freaky really, but he was dead for like over a day. Anyone else seen or heard of this happening?

My question is a simple one. Now mind you that i am a Christian, and have been for quite some time now. And am very aware of pauls teaching teachings. To be absent from the body is to be present with God. Now having believed this, how am i to believe that it is possible that their is a such thing as a spirit on earth?

I hear a lot of Christians say "God gives us free will" when we ask questions like "why does God allow (fill in the blanks) to happen"? If they want to use the "free will" arguement, then gay people are exercising their "free will' so why don't Christians just chalk it up to "free will" and leave them alone. What's good for the goose should be good for the gander, right?

Pentecostal/Fundamentalist Christians have said to me that the reason my paralysed arm is not healed is because I lack faith and I still have unresolved sin. I haven't seen anyone miracuosly healed from paralysis ever, nor have I seen a limb grow back. Hindus and Buddhists have said that I have a disability because of bad karma, in this life and past lives... what the hell can I do about something that happened in a past life? Furthermore, i'm not evil, I try to be compassionate and loving to others, and I contribute and work for charity. Islam seems to have some pretty weird ideas about fate as well, but i would be interested to hear an Islamic perspective. Any perspective at all, religous, spiritual or atheist.

This is the coolest question I've ever been asked.

Lets say there's this guy who has been good his entire life. He gives back to his community, helps ppl, saves lives, is regarded as a hero, and hasn't commited any major sins. But he doesn't believe in God. Will he go to hell (according to Christian/Catholic beliefs)?

clothing is something that is useful to the body while it lives.
it's no different than putting a magic amulate or sacred deer antlers in a coffin.
the original intent of burying anything with the dead was to outfit them for the after life. so again, why is someone who has no belief in an afterlife buried in clothing? aren't they aware of what it insinuates?

The Mormons specifically state that they believe in the Bible "AS FAR AS IT IS TRANSLATED CORRECTLY"!! Convenient, huh? Like where the Bible says that it is the word of God and that there are to be no more additions (like the Book of Mormon?). Oh, that's simply "incorrect". How convenient. And how about the Commandments, like the one about there being only ONE God? Mormon theology holds the door open for ANY good Mormon MAN to be a God, along with all of the other 'Gods' that used to be men already out there! Brigham Young stated that; "No one will ever enter heaven unless they believe in and have the consent of Joseph Smith." (Journal of Discourses). The Bible says to believe in Jesus. So who you gonna call?

Seriously, is there like some organization that hires people to go on Yahoo Answers and just throw bible quotes around? No offence, just interested to know if there is some organized effort to convert peeps. I mean I live in China and i know they have gov. officials whose job is to sway public opinion in favor of the government on internet chat rooms. Essencially same thing?
