All right, I'll take the bait. :)

First of all, I should admit that i'm no real Bible thumper. . . just somebody who believes that the Bible is true. I don't think you'd classify me as a Bible thumper if you worked with me. So I don't know whether I can answer this question to your satisfaction.

Nietzche once said that power--real power--is the ability to decide the nature of the real. Six hundred years ago, all of that power belonged to people whom you'd consider Bible thumpers. . . the people who told Galileo where to stick it. The Christian church of that time was able to boss science around. Why? Because at that time, the Christian church was in power. As a result, they decided what was "real" and what was "not real." Galileo's results and theories. . . not so real. The literal teachings of the Bible. . . real. Of course, this had nothing to do with the facts; it had to do with power.

But now, that power mostly belongs to science, to literalism, and to secularism. Religion may be "helpful," "meaningful," or "beautiful," but people don't worry about whether it's real or not. Science is "real." That's not actually because it's more enlightened, but simply because it's the more powerful system of belief at this moment in history.

It's clear to me that you, question asker :) , think people like me. . . people who believe in the truth of the Bible, people who live according to it and do their best to follow Jesus Christ. . . are out of touch with what's "real." But that's not really a measure of how out of touch we are. That's a reflection of who has power in today's society. Hundreds of years ago, Galileo was "wrong" because he believed in a "false doctrine"; he was a "heretic" who had "lost touch with reality." Why did he whisper, even in the trial when he was forced to renounce his findings, that the Earth really did move around the Sun? Because he believed his own experience. Because his own knowledge of the truth was more important and more credible than anything that the society around him had to say.

So when you ask me why I can't admit, or why my fellow Christians can't admit, that they've been suckered and brainwashed all these years, I'll say that maybe it's because they've been so pressured all these years that they don't even notice any more. . . but maybe it's because they, unlike other members of society, are dedicated to following an idea a little bit larger and a little bit more revolutionary than the current, popular, "realistic" ideas of larger American society.

Again. I don't think you'd really call me "right wing" if you met me in person. . . but then again, how many right wing people do you really know? Seems to me that if you feel all "right wing Bible thumpers" have been suckered and brainwashed, you don't know very many conservative Christians. I'd suggest you go out and meet the enemy, and you might find a reply to your own questions. You could post it back to this forum if you discover a real answer.

God bless you. . . no, seriously. ;)

Life is easier when you do, I did. I still have to shake off Christian damage from time to time, yet it doesn't make me unhappy. On the contrary I am a much happier person overall.

Not everyone is able to do this. Some just don't have the ego strength or mindpower to break out of the box they are in. But really, if someone is safe in their life, and not using religion to judge others, then there is no logical need for them to believe something else, it works for them. I mean how do you know to ask for something better if you've never thought about something better?

the unique purpose of itemizing the genealogies replaced into to make a record of the "seed" of Abraham. The Jews and later day Christians descended from Isaac, and the Arabians descended from Ishmael. Now, considering all of those files were destroyed centuries in the past, no one is acquainted with which Tribe they're descended from. Even our own ancestry is constrained to the be conscious imparted through folk and grandparents. it looks no one ever taught you what's contained in the Bible. you should have a e book study; then, you'd be able to actual argue a level or 2 and make experience.

Yes they are suckered in by Straussian philosophy. A lot of senior people in government and universities all follow this. Basically they think that there is no god, no such thing as good or evil, and people are selfish. So the only way to keep them in line is to give them a system of though. ie: Christianity. That way they will act like good lttle poodles while the non believers can do what they want, if people notice.. just deny it and pretend to be christian, you can even murder and christians will still support you.
Actually makes a lot of sense. We should all do it too.
Hail God almighty.. giver of... stuff!

There are far too many people on the planet who fear death and need religion. People have needed religion forever, and Christianity is that for a lot of people. They value tradition too much, and would rather just maintain the staus-quo.

I'm not a fan of stubborn people, but those kind of people have to exist in the world for some reason, which is unknown to me. All I know is stubborn people will never go away so you have to learn how to deal with them, and I don't think diminishing their religious beliefs here is a way to change them.

If I am wrong, But I'm not, I have harmed no one. I spend my life in love with everyone and especially my Lord and Savior. No one is harmed.. If you are offended , that is OK, cause that's the way it works; demons always get uncomfortable arround Christians because we have so much power over you.... BUT if you are wrong, and you are, you spend your life doing harm, manipulating, cheating, lying, and generally comitting every sin you think you can get away with, ruining your own life and everyone's life arround you. You die alone and miserable, and then you go to Hell where the flame never dies, the pain never ceases and none of your desires are ever fulfilled... It is your choice...Jesus is Lord and Savior or by default you serve satan.

Joh 18:37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
Joh 18:38 Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.

Your question only displays your limited knowledge on a variety of topics. It takes someone with morals, character and integrity to stand on the right. Ignorance is obviously the only qualification to be on the left. Maybe if you got a Bible and read it you would understand. Until then we will pray for you.
