There is so much talk around Yahoo Answers, about the fictionality of the Bible, & anti-social elements of the Islamic texts...
My question is, should we not treat all religious books at par?
Do devout christians question the authenticity of the Quran & not of the Bible?
(Just for example) Why?
Should we not consider all religious text as the moral & social wisdom collected by the people of that time in history, & complied into a book?

I recently went to a mass where my friend had her baby baptized. Just wondering why they pray to saints so they can pray to God on our behalf when That's the role of Jesus. John 14: 6

They say they do not get upset when God is mentioned, however check any responses they leave for christian based questions or comments. They say don't shove religion down our throat, yet they choose to be in a section that state religion and spirituality, a section where they know people will be talking of God. They say we don't discriminate, but just pay attention to the reponses I will receive to this simple question.

Why are they so bitter about a God that does not exist? I do not get upset at evolutionists and curse them out, because I do not share their beliefs, therefore I could careless. Even though evolutionists and aetheists shove their beliefs in our face and our children faces in school. We should not share ours, however they are forcing their's upon us and our children.

Who is shoving belief down who's throat? It seems to me it is the minority of aetheists, who are hell bent on having it there way.

Women are deficient in mind and religion.

Mohammed asked some women, "Isn't the witness of a woman equal to half that of a man?" The women said, "yes," He said, "This is because of the deficiency of the woman's mind. " Vol. 3:826

Mohammed to women: "I have not seen any one more deficient in intelligence and religion than you." Vol. 2:541

The majority of people in hell are women.

Mohammed said, "I was shown the Hell-fire and that the majority of its dwellers are women. " Vol. 1:28, 301; Vol. 2:161; Vol. 7:124

Women are a bad omen.

Mohammed said, " Bad omen is in the woman, the house and the horse." Vol. 7:30

Women are harmful to men.

Mohammed said, "After me I have not left any affliction more harmful to men than women." Vol. 7:33

Mohammed married a 9 year old girl.

"Narrated Aisha that the prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old."Vol. 7:64

"A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, 'Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possession. Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, 'Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.' He [Jesus] answered, 'I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.' The woman came and knelt before him. 'Lord, help me!' she said. He [Jesus] replied 'It is not right to take the children's [Jews] bread [blessings and miracles reserved for them] and toss it to their dogs [the Gentiles].' 'Yes, Lord' she said, 'but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table.' Then Jesus answered, 'Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.' And her daughter was healed from that very hour. (From the NIV Bible, Matthew 15:22-28)"
It's funny how Jesus supposedly in the book of man-made alterations and corruption, the New Testament, instantaneously ABROGATED his views and decision about the non-Jewish woman and people in general being equivalent to dogs when compared to the Jews. It is important to note that the woman, in this corrupted book, from the very start showed that she is a "believer" (what ever that meant back then). So it wasn't a matter of a "disbeliever" or pagan seeking Jesus' help.
The woman's wisdom defeated Jesus, the so-called "Creator of the Universe"! Jesus, within a second, changed his ra ci st and tra sh-m ou thed views against her from being a "dog" to a human being who deserves to be helped.
don't forget that the woman initially showed that she was a believer! Jesus rejected her only because she was a Gentile!

I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: 'I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept His claim to be God.' That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic - on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg - or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronising nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to."

Every one HAS to believe in some form of evolution, right? Everyone in here knows that evolution is a FACT of life... I'm not saying you have to believe in the extreme forms, ie. human evolved from earlier primates, etc., but in terms of technology, the human mind today, animals adapting to their ever-changing environment, etc. Those, too, are forms of evolution that one can't deny.

So I guess my point is, when you are looking into an Evolutionist's question, before you start to patronize them for believing in something different than that of your own beliefs, realize that you may have more in common with them than you think!

Any thoughts?
