When I was young I read a book, called "Zorba the Greek", by Nikos Kazantzakis [one of greatest European writers], later also a famous song by Nikis Theodorakis [who lived in France] and... a lot more. Whatever impressed me in that book, was that someone died and the first thing that people wanted to do was to "grab" the deceased's belongings....That image remained long in my mind. Since then I have realized how ugly death is...

To me, death is filled with grief. As a doctor I have seen many people during their last minutes. When someone dies, people were hired to cry. The priests with the cross, would stop at every intersection and the crowds would cry harder, and the people would throw small change to the passers-bies who would pick it up from the dirt. The procession would continue to the burial place at the cemetery. The priests would say the last things, and the first shovels of dirt and stones would fall on the coffin, Bum! Bum! unbearably painful. Porridge and wine would be given to people. A black piece of cloth, like a butterfly in shape, would hang for months somewhere on the deceased's house showing that someone died there. I hate death, it is something horrible and ugly.

Let us, God, live!

Is that what you're doing now? Do you still wish you didn't lose sight of your kiddie time ambition? Thanks for sharing!

Personally, I wanted to be a flight attendant. But, gotta be taller, so... that was that. Then I wanted to be a classical pianist... nope, not one now.

There is a fraternity that has been talking to me because they really want me to join but I am not interested, I want to join another fraternity instead. They call me but I pretend to be busy. How do I say I am not interested without lying about my interest in another fraternity and without sounding like an arrogant jerk?

I have never been to the US.
Seeing statistics of the crime, I imagine that the US is a dangerous country.
Actually, do people who live in the US feel danger every day?

Ok, im not some creepy person, im a normal girl with good friends. But my problem is that very few ppl like me,(ppl that i work with) i mean as in i guess my personality really sucks. Im not a b**** at work, im always smiling and im friendly and i help my coworkers out alot, I dunno, i laugh alot and im LOUD and outgoing and im an unloader 4 walmart. basically i do a "mans" job unloading trucks, but i look like a girl and i dress like 1 (i DO NOT look dirty or manly in anyway)...and it seems like guys like me and wanna hang out but when they find out about my job, they totally change. same as some girls too. Really I just hate always being judged cuz of my job and my loud, boyish personality, i mean wats the matter with me????.Im just like the girl who works in cosmetics, why r ppl so sexist about jobs?

if possible the most frightening thing that happened to you or someone realy close to you, but if you can't think of one then something more public is fine.
The most frightening thing that i can think of is when I was out at a lake with my mentally challenged cousin and a friend.
i was on my way to swim out to a little island, but my cousin followed me and went in ahead of me.
i knew he wouldn't be able to make it so i went after him.
he swam as far and fast as he could so he burnt out a good way out in the water.
i called him back but he was tired so i was dragging him back but he panicked and was climbing all over me and squezing my neck.
he's easily more than twice my size
in short
my cousin was going to drown and there was nothing i could do. He would die and I would have to watch.
waving to boats for help didn't work... they just waved back...
he jumped off me onto my friend.
that was memorial day and we almost died same as Steve Irwin did
i could say more but 0 left

Where do these voices originate from. I know they come from the other end of the line. But could they be mutations created in an underground facility (perhaps area 51)? Are they recruited from a dark insidious phone agency? Is there an easier way to communicate with them? I found they want to extrude my important personal info. to fullfill their objectives. They are hard-core persistent, usually polite, and most of all confusing because of the accent. Perhaps we should worry less about immigration and more about whoever these people are. They invade our personal privacy and demand our attention on a daily basis. This I find in your face bothersome.

Do that many people really care about her that much? She's everywhere! What's the appeal? She has no talent, no intelligence or skill or anything constructive to offer the world. Are Americans so enamored by spoiled rich kids that they have to know their every move? What a waste of time! What a sad commentary on the American people that she makes headlines! People like Paris should be abhorred, not exaulted. I wonder, if Einstein were at work today where he would fall in the headlines? Somewhere under Paris Hilton's new post prison look and Brittany Spears latest addiction, but just above the Ugliest Dog competition. Demand more from your media, people! There's a war going on and our government is implementing more and more gestapo tactics on its citizens every day. People are dying from lack of health care and there are mentally disabled people living on the street. No one should give a flying (expletive) about anything that has to do with Paris Hilton. Wake up, America!

I understand that Y! lives on commercials, but this is not a paid ad...served up as "news"...Don't you think that the media should have more respect to people not pushing stupid, superficial irrelevant things into our world?

I answered a question about Paris Hilton getting out of jail on Yahoo OMG. I said I was glad Paris was out . She spent some time in jail, had to pay a fine and will be on probation. I have seen others who were on probation or even Parole assalt people and get less jail time and less consequences. I felt she should have to pay but it was over now. A guy (I think It was the guy who used to call himself Major, he has made personal attacks before.) He addressed a comment to me, and said he hoped that I or one of my family was seriously hurt or killed by a drunk driver. I think that was horrible a lot more horrible than me thinking the "Paris" thing should be over. The fact is my son was critically injured in a car accident and has permanent brain damage. No one was drunk. But I know car crash consequences. I don't blame anyone. And I don't feel I deserved his attack. If the person that said that reads this he may be pleased. But I am sorry these sites are used to generate hate. R U?
