I have never been to the US.
Seeing statistics of the crime, I imagine that the US is a dangerous country.
Actually, do people who live in the US feel danger every day?

NO.... the US is much, much safer than the rest of the countries I have been to. If you go to a third world country with internal political strife, you cannot walk the street in the night with complete confidence. In the USA, you can drive around by yourself at 3 in the morning.
Of course if you go to a big city., like New York or LA, the crime rate is high and there are those ghetto, gang-infested areas. All countries have areas high in crime and quiet areas to complement these. The US is much safer than most.

I think it depends on the area and whom you're asking. While some may say "YES IT'S DANGEROUS" others may say "It's not as bad as that other country". The U.S. has many different types of cities, towns, communities etc. Larger cities tend to have higher crime rate. Smaller towns usually don't have much crime rate. I have lived in a border town called Laredo, Texas for 18 years. We are supposedly one of the most dangerous cities in Texas. Yet, I have never been assaulted or felt like I was unsafe. But then again I have grown accustomed to such "unsafe" conditions. But anyway. So yes and no the U.S. can be dangerous but not necessarily all the time.

I live in a small town and I do not feel danger every day. I can walk around town at night and feel relatively safe and I only lock my doors at night to sleep. Right now while I am on here the front door is open...If I lived in a big city there would be more population therefore greater risk of danger. However, the USA is no more dangerous than many other countries.....

Some do, some don't. I live in my state's capital. There are still people here that do not lock ther doors, who know all their neighbors, and who live their lives without ever having been the victim of any crime. You can go to major cities like L.A. and Chicago and meet people who have lived there all their lives, know all their neighbors and have never even been the victim of any crime.

Learning to read statistcs is a tricky thing. I can take a pile of statistics on crime and make it seem like the U.S. is a horrible place - or where YOU live is a horrible place. oR I can do the reverse, making them seem like they greatest places to live ever. The numbers never change, i;s how they are presented.

Compared to some places, the U.S. could be seen as the most peaceful place on earth.

I can drive across country on my own and be completely safe. I can go out in my street right now, late in the night, without any consequences or fear.

Hoever, just like ANYWHERE in the world, you go out looking and acting like a victim, wandering about like a startstruck child, eventually someone will make a victim out of you.

The worst danger I've felt in the past 6 months? Driving on a mountain road that had a sharp drop off. In a few months, I'll be very familiar with that road, and have no fear.

No. I live in a beautiful rural area and have no fear of danger. People here have manners and help each other. There is very little crime and it's mostly personal between people who know each other, or involves alcohol at the weekends. Many people around here don't even lock their doors.

Large cities are dangerous, but that's true of every large city in the world, not just the US.

Many people who've never been here don't realize just how big the US is, and that many high-crime areas are far away from where decent people live. Come to the Upper Midwest/Great Lakes area where we live and there won't be anything for you to be afraid of.

It really depends on where in the US.
Some places are typically more dangerous than others, though crime happens all across the board, it could be in the nicest neighborhood or deep in the ghetto, no place is immune.
I've lived here all my life, I don't walk around in fear, but I always stay alert, and aware of my surroundings., you'd be a fool not to.
I can imagine why people would wonder as to how violent we are, any time you turn on the news, there we are with some more drama....not helping our image any.
But I wouldn't choose any country over the US...I love it here.

I think the larger cities are dangerous. No one should go out alone there. In the rural areas people still leave doors unlocked and even keys in the car at home. That is far away from a city, and a very nice place to live.

No, it's not "overly dangerous" of course there is much more crime in the metropolitan areas, as opposed to rural areas, just like other big cities of the world.

Yes it is!
I seen a movie and it said America has the HIGHEST death rate! More people die in America a year then in any other country.

But that movie was made a while back so statistics probably changed...
