Hi! I'm the girlfriend of an insectivore (you know... a guy who eats insects)... and personally, I love the taste of crickets and certain kinds of cicada... and I just started to wonder... Have any of you ever (deliberately) eaten an insect? Was it tasty? Do you think I'm wierd, being an insectivore?

If you haven't eaten an insect, why haven't you? Do you think it's strange? Gross? Disgusting? WHY? You don't know what you're missing out on!

Express your opinion! BE UNIQUE!!!

FYI, insects are much, MUCH healthier than almost every type of food out there! And they're so full of proteins and sometimes vitamins! If you avoid them just because of a simple stigmatism... you REALLY don't know what you're missing!

Most people DONT like going to work. I look around and i see people just typing away complaining the whole time and they just think of what they're going to watch on TV when they get home, what they'll do on the weekend...or even just retirement! can you imagine...just thinking about retirement for 20 years while you work. its horrible!

what do you look forward to? i just went on a 3 month vacation. that was awesome..and thats what made me happy before i went. Now i have to plan something else. But the weekend will work for now i guess.

I know everyone has the same hideously dull daily routine, I don't think my life is harder than anyone else's. I just don't see how anyone can be happy with such a life, knowing it will just go on and on until you finally die. . .

My friend and I just went to apply for jobs at the local minimall. We stopped at the Mcdonalds and requested applications.

1 - The lady speaks to us in spanish. Her english is poor and through hand gestures and other employees, we manage to get "job applications" across.
2 - We are given applications which are in Spanish.
3 - We request ones in english, but are told they dont have any. Not "we are out". Dont have any.

I live in Northern Virginia. Last time I checked, our spanish community here wasnt that large. Furthermore, this is an english-speaking country.

Why is it that,
a cultural icon of america
a place where 70% of americans have worked at one time or another

Cannot give me an application in english???

It's been almost 2 weeks and my coworker is still wearing the same pants...Same color...Same style...I highly doubt they own more then 1 pair...I want to say something without hurting thier feelings...Any Input??....

Doesn't it make you feel like they think that you're ignorant (even though you're not)?

For instance, when you go to job interview, people will tell you to dress well, answer question confidently, blah blah blah ... as if they're the experts and you don't know anything. And if you don't get the job (or the next interview), then they'll tell you "Oh, you should've done this or you should've done that ..." as if you don't already know how to do those things. (The fact of the matter is that you do know how to do those things, but under the special circumstances you couldn't do them. Things aren't always so simple.)

Does anybody know what I'm talking about?
How do you deal with this when it happens?

Let's face it, none of us is perfect, and we can't ever reach perfection. But we can be better if we all get rid of the negative things that are a part of us, and start doing routines that will help us and people around us. I think that everyone can give a few tips; something that is their life ideal or moto, and what all of us can embrase. Let's be better humans. Like one time I had a lollypop in my mouth, and some people though it was a cigerette. Can't assumptions sometimes be dangerous starting unnesscary conflicts amongst people. Like lets say someone told my parents I smoke, while I was eating a lollypop imagine how much **** i'd be in. Another example is if someone assumes something about you or you're family without getting the actual truth, it can ruin people's image of you.

I asked this question before on the groups section but i jsut want to see how you'll answer on here.
why is it if you have a drop of black in you, suddenly you become black?? i dont undersand this. people have a tendency to call me racist cause i dont say that i'm black! i am not black i'm mulatta [half white and half black], they say if i have one drop of black that means i'm black. no it doesnt! it means that i DO have black in me but it's not all that i have. when tiger woods told everyone that he was not black but half vietnames, everyone called him a racist!! i never udnerstood why!! he is not black but half black and mixed!! i dont see why people are making a big deal out of that? and why am i being called racist for defending who i am, dont get me wrong i am not defined by my race, but i dont like to be called what i'm not!

What I don't get is that there are plenty of youth groups and community service clubs out there that try to do what we do, but we are singled out as nerds and stuff. Its a great orginization but for some reason it's different, is it the uniform (we don't like them anymore than anyone else )? Is it the goody two shoes image? The whole gay thing?

Why do people hate us so much?

And I'd say that I'm at least stronger than 95% of the people saying these things because of scouting. Which is sorta ironic that the reason they think we are losers or nerds, is also the reason that I am in much better shape than them.
