Yellowstone park is the site of the super volcano in the US not the Grand Canyon. An eruption would spread ash over an area the half size of North America , and pronounced deterioration of global climate would be expected for a few years following the eruption that could result in the devastation of world agriculture. However there would be decades of warning, so there would be time to prepare.

No, it is a canyon. However the caldera that Yellowstone is sitting on could go in our lifetime. That thing explodes and life as we know it is gone.
