Mick Jagger once said he'd rather be dead, than be singing "Satisfaction" at age 40. He turned 40 in the 1980's.

The people who bought the Stones' first albums are still alive and loving the Stones. There have also been several generations after that, who have come to love the Stones' music.

The fans keep buying the music, and the Stones' keep making it, playing it, and selling it.

The men that are the Rolling Stones have plenty of money to see them, and their families, through life... very well appointed. So it's not like they *need* the money.

Is greed is the only reason why they would keep making music, and money?
Or... are they artists who are not aging out of making the music that they have been making for 40 years?
(Some artists keep making their art until death. Some quit and retire).

The Rolling Stones, perhaps, could be a bit of both. Greed, and artists at work.

But one thing is for sure.... If people keep buying the music... the band will never really ever go away. The fans keep them alive and that is how they persist. Look at Elvis!

Because they are a great band.

If the Beatles were still all alive and together they would be as popular, if not more so. In any case even Paul McCartney solo is still very popular. Anyone who produces great music will persist in the industry.

Because people still flock to see them so why not. And by the way, don't feel so smug about being young. You do not own youth but are merely passing through and believe me it is a very short section of the journey. What will you be doing when you are Mick Jaggers age?

Apparently, Keith Richards died some years ago. Its just that someone forgot to tell HIM.

They make lots of money creaking about stage is all! Their tours are all sell outs and you can even get Rolling Stones hip Replacements from the merchandise stalls at their gigs!

Sheer brillaince at marketing for the older audience.

For a start it's what they do. Are you saying that music should only be by the young for the young? If so don't you think that's a bit arrogant? You seem to be doing what parents used to do - rubbishing music that is not from your generation. Interesting to see it in reverse. Finally, ask yourself who influenced today's musicians.

Because they are classics. They helped shape our view of entertainment. Though they may need to realize when to give it up, there will always be a following for them, no matter what they decide to do.

To annoy callow youth such as yourself -obviously works!

On a serious note (ha ha!) - they are still creative and have more energy than a lot of young people. They rock!!
