Good or bad. What do you think caused you to do it?

How come some people do not have compassion for others? For example, even just now I posted a question about why others in poor countries die of hunger when we have enough money and food in the US to ensure no one ever dies of hunger. Some of the answers indicated that it was the starving peoples fault. Some indicated "who cares?". Is everyone born compassionate and then it gradually disappears or are some people just heartless? Thoughts??

It seems that material desires consume so much of peoples thoughts in the United States especially. The focus seems to be on bigger, better, more material objects and money, money, money. Has civilization always been this way or is it getting worse now because there are more things/items to be had. Thoughts?

or make snarky remarks like, "if you want to, well its your choice"
I did not ask, I do not think there is a need for someone to impose their opinion on me.
Or, "that will make you fat!"
or "have you not seen Super Size Me?"
Yes I did see it, and it just made me want a Mcnuggets, so there!

There are enough resources in the world to provide food for everyone, yet people die of hunger every day. Do we, as the human race, not care enough about others to alleviate hunger....when it would be so easy to???? Thoughts??

Our kids look up to and try to emulate celebrities. More and more you see them arrested for DUI's, possession of guns or drugs and for other crimes like domestic battery. If not that, then you hear of drug or alcohol abuse or steroid use. Have you lost respect for an actor or athlete? Another way to answer would be to tell me if there is anyone out there who seems to hold him/herself to a high standard regardless of the issues and temptations common to the celebrity lifestyle. I realize everyone faces hardship, but to be in the public eye and to have more money than most of us will ever see, I feel like they have a responsibility to set a good example for our kids. Think. Then give me your answer.

Hes a great guy and we have been in a relationship for a while. Lately, hes shown some above-average interest in what I wear to the office each day, especially my pantyhose. He has given me some pretty strong hints that he would like to try them out to experience what it would feel like to wear them. I think I would be ok with it and that it might be good for him to give it a try so he knows what I have to go through each day, but I havent told him that yet. Instead, I told him I would think about it. Can any women out there offer me some advice on this?

I know one should not stereotype, but if you had to generalize what has been your take on it.
for example

"Individuality
Probably above everything else, Americans consider themselves individuals. There are strong family ties and strong loyalties to groups, but individuality and individual rights are most important. If this seems like a selfish attitude, it also leads Americans to an honest respect for other individuals and an insistence on human equality.

Related to this respect for individuality are American traits of independence and self-reliance. From an early age, children are taught to "stand on their own two feet," an idiom meaning to be independent. You may be surprised to learn that most U.S. students choose their own classes, select their own majors, follow their own careers, arrange their own marriages, and so on, instead of adhering to the wishes of their parents."

Unfortunately I do. Why? Because all they want to talk aboout in the music is sex, now kids and all think they can go have sex with who ever and whenever. Which it was made for married couples, committment, etc. It promotes alot of violence, now alot of young people think they can go kill up everybody and get aways with it. Young people dying like mosquitos. Like when someone see a mosquito you are ready to kill before it bites you. When they do have life, they life may not be as meaningful as human.

I heard a story about a mother who took her daughter to a Japanese style restaurant, the kind where they through utensils in the air and cook (in a large fire) the food in front of you. You know, like a show. The mother and daughter were not the only ones seated there. There were at least three other parties. I heard mother told the Chef not do the show because the daughter would be scared! The other people complained, but mother insisted, so there was no show. Sadly I see a lot of stuff like this happen. What do you think about it?
