After yet another email/myspace bulletin claiming that I must pass around said chain letter or suffer bad luck for the next fifteen years, I was wondering why people do this. Is it the fear of actual bad luck or do people just find it fun to pass them around? Also, I would love to hear some of the historical context behind chain letters if you know of it.

I ask because I saw a notice in a games shop window exhorting passers-by to 'pre-order' their GoggleGames 3000X, or something. It struck me that if I were to go into the shop for that purpose, would they take my name so that they could take my order at a later date and no-one who was not on the pre-order list would be allowed to order at that later date?
Nah!
I presume they just meant 'Order your GoggleBox 3000X NOW!' as there's no such thing as a 'pre-order' - just 'order'.

I am planning on moving to England. I've been annoyingly told that England has nothing good to offer, but I think it is the best! I need to get out of america for some time. I uploaded a picture of myself to use, since I didn't want to use one of the cartoon avatars. And my picture uploaded fine, and when I was at Answers yesterday the pic was up the whole time, no problem.
But today, when I look at my profile, where my pic should be it says 'image temporarily unavailable'. And I check my answers to questions to see if my picture is there... it sometimes is, sometimes isn't. When I refresh the page, the pic usually comes back.
When I go to edit profile and select 'use yahoo 360 picture', it seems fine, until I answer a question... and then it goes back to no image. When I check my profile AGAIN, it says that there IS no yahoo 360 image (even though there really is...)

I need help! I don't know what's going on! Can anyone help a girl in distress???
