I've always wondered if parenting classes would help this country. There is no reason why we couldn't have parenting classes available to get the word out how important this is. People succeed and people fail. But the majority of people who fail have not had a good example set for them. I think the ones with good parents that teach them good morals, kindness, empathy, and understanding towards others are the ones who succeed. Parenting can be taught and it should be, on a regular basis. Maybe get rid of things like Algebra which you rarely use in your life and teach people how to be good parents.

number one thing now and has been for about 50 years is stop lying to them . stop telling them crazy things about pot. they quickly figure out that is all hog wash and that leaves them thinking the rest of what was said was hog wash too so they don't heed any other warnings.
present real facts pure fact. also one school i know of has my brother a guy that looked exactly like the guy in the pic of a nerd when that word first came out he never smoked pot in his life he goes at the request of the school and speaks to them about drugs. me and the rest of his brothers laugh i mean the first time i heard that they had him do this i was on the floor laughing
you have to have a person that has at least smoked some pot gone to some parties and hopefully really seen the results of other drugs on people like a doctor or a drug rehab person do the talk not my brother that's for sure.

well that is a good question - first of all i have been through so much drug usage i my life that all i can figure that would help
a young person to stay off of drugs is for them to never start.
but how we can keep them as adults is to show a great interest in them......hang out with them and be a good influence........dont push them just be a friend with good clean social skills and hopefully they will pick up some of your good habits with out drugs - some you will get close to and they will hurt you because they will go back out and use......but keep on going one helped person at a time. they may be the one that helps another stay clear of that stuff........it's bad news.

be involved and make sure they are creatively stimulated rather then vegetating with a GameBoy.... be graceful and tactful because an overbearing adult who seems to not have a clue will alienate the kid and they will look for an escape...
THE KEY is to raise a child who is not looking for an escape from reality so we must make reality a happy place
