when my friend came to the door the other day, i noticed she was bigger which i have NO problem with at all but for some reason i had us go around a different way of the house because i didn't know what my step dad would think. I feel so guilty and selfish to be her friend. I mean i would go to the mall and stuff with her. I have with someone else who was bigger. I did the same thing once to a other friend when i was like 13 and i can't believe i did it the other night. It can't be because i am embarrassed because i brought her outside when my grandfather was here and he said hi and everything. Man, i don't know what to do! but i hate this guilt feeling! I know my step dad wouldn't have said anything ..but you wonder what people would think. She is coming over tomorrow and i keep obsessing over "what if she knew" and that i feel like a bad friend.

This type of dialogue was stopped because it was considered a negative stereotype. If a movie was made about the Internet and the people blogged like that would it be considered a negative stereotype or just accurate? Look at a lot of the questions posted on this site.

I don't like cocky people. They almost always think only about themselves.

I had this dream, where I was standing alone, the sky is engulfed by a wave of molten rock so high that it blotches noon sun.
Right there you know that you and everything will die, it all ends in 10 seconds. What will you do?

For me, in the dream, I just stared at the ground as the noise, heat and darkness got closer and closer.

i am aware of the craze about American idol. Apparently most of America watches this show. Curious, I turned on this show one night and was amazed at how horrible it was. I almost cried thinking that America is glued to this mindless drivell. Anybody share my feeling?

I know "normal" is hard to describe so just use your definition of "normal" when thinking about and answering this question.

I was kind of wondering what people think of our culture today.

It seems like we teach people to love themselves no matter what. I'm not sure I'm comfortable with that. Because its like you should be proud of yourself no matter what you are. And confident. I feel like they teach people to be overconfident. Confident enough to get out there and try things is good but I don't know if everyone should be completely confident. And why should you be proud of yourself if you haven't accomplished anything?

And I think the idea of "be yourself" has been completely twisted around. Its like, "be yourself" meaning, no matter whether your personality or actions are good or bad, stick with it, because trying to improve would be being fake. You can still be yourself and work to improve yourself. Different personality quirks don't define who you are as a person.

And it does basically say accept who you are and don't try to change. Obviously chaging everything you are and being something else to please others isn't good, but whats wrong with striving for perfection your whole life? You'll never reach it, but there's nothing wrong with improving yourself, it doesn't make you fake. Its like society teaches us to give up after a while, its sort of like our culture is really lazy and selfish. I get that if you're constantly trying to please others you don't have time for self improvement, but if you're comfortable enough with who you are, then you should try to be a better person, not settle in your place and say thats it I am what I am. I want to keep being a better person as I get older.

We're told that we deserve a lot of free time, shouldn't feel selfish for wanting things, that we have these "needs" while plenty of people around the world get along fine without them.

There was a study on the news that said how much more selfish and self centered this generation's kids are.

I'm just curious what people think, I'm not judging anybody and am just really curious.

Today I was walking to class and it was in the middle of a wooded area. Snow is everywhere. I had to take a short cut (which a lot of people take) to the main arts & literature building - one that is only grass, no sidewalk. So I'm walking, then I slip and fall practically flat on my face. Pretty embarassing as a stranger saw it... I couldn't see her (woods), but I heard her yell to a friend "he fell!"

This is the second time in a week I've fallen while walking through snow. Granted... these two times are the only two times in many years (if ever... I can't actually remember) that I've slipped on snow, but I usually don't walk in snow anyway.

So, I ask you - how often do you slip on snow & ice (versus how often you do)? Are some people simply more likely to fall than others? Perhaps shoe type is a contributing factor? Anyway, I'm bored so thought I'd ask.

I imagine it is to get points or whatever but why don't those people actually answer a question they know something about instead of wasting someone ele's time reading your answer of "I don't know?". Jusr wondering.
