Princess: Well if you think about it in the middle ages it was common to marry at ages like 14, and its not that everybody ignored religion, because back then catholic curch controled everything, the world was a theocrazy and back then it wasnt inmoral at all, and the world wasnt in a low like now. also in places where indigen beliefs such Peru, some decendans of Incas, still follow ancient practics some rituals involting the use of coke leaves, and other drugs that nature produces.
Also... Do You even know what paganism is? paganism is NOT being atheist, they are spiritual and belive in gods (not specifically of that of abraham) but paganism is NOT something that promotes inmoral practices nor is atheism. Nevertheless I do agree with you that people are shifting away from things like love and compasion.

I will agree with you, but I think it's this war happening right now in Iraq that has caused so many dissapointment, causing people anger due to the fact that the war is still going on, Bush still has those poor American troopers back in iraq, and who knows when it will be all over. So I think that war is what brings earth to a lower level, in which some people like you start realizing it. Let me tell you, when there is no war, the world is a more peaceful place. People don't worry all the time about other things, and collaborate to care for the earth.

There are a number of immediate problems this world faces right now that do need to be addressed. There are many other pending issues that seem like problems but they're just the natural flow.
Education. The US education system is in shabby shape right now. Parents thinking their kids are special, different, the best, models, future stars. Whatever... No one is special not even my kids, they are just people, that's it. They will live and they will die. That's it. It is my duty to see that they become as wise as possible. If they fall short of the goals that I have planned then we both have to work harder to secure their futures.
Work ethic, somewhere in the late late seventies video games captured everyone's attention and I'm sure you can see a trend occur. People that were affected by this video game virus stopped learning and stopped working be it on a hooby car a lawnmower, raking the yard, or humping their wives. Gotta have video games. They rock YEAH!!!.
I could go on and on. In short, the whole of the world is becoming more and more subdued by entertainment opening up more and more possibilities for other people to control what people are spending all their time doing. The short answer to all this is to live a life that you can no longer see yourself being unhappy in living. That doesn't mean eat hamburgers all day or to put giant *** rims on your car. I'm sayong we all need to pretend we're children in our off time and grow together again and work our fingers to the bone when it's time to make some money.

The problem is that this generation is becoming more and more modern, and a lot of people are forgetting about the more important things in life. Now you see kids smoking crack or getting pregnant. I guess that it's also the parents' fault if they do not discipline their children into understanding what is right and what is.. improper. It is partly because of religion, too, because many have no moral judgement (no religion or paganistic beliefs) which trick people into believing that there is no God and there are no consequences for your actions. And not to be spiteful, I think this world is becoming dumber and dumber everyday, with the influence of modern technology (like I said earlier), people get attracted to things not nearly as valuable as compassion and love. I don't mean to sound cheesy, but it's true. We are all living in a despondent world unable to distinguish false from truth. Maybe if each of us tries hard enough, we can maybe open our eyes and comprehend the beauty we can achieve.

I don't think it's so bad. Looking back through history we have always had bad things in one form or another. It only seems worse to us now because we are living in the "now". Can you even imagine growing up during the depression? Or during ww1 & ww2?
How about during the civil war? There's always something bad going down. Try to look to the positive. There are good things going on in the world too. If you look at it with that spin, while looking to the past you could also say things are better than ever!

Things are changing. That's how it has always been and will continue to change.
Some say it's good and some say it's bad. A person's attitude depends on where they are in the mix.
It does not have to be depressing. The news media is great for their negativity.
Look at all the good things that has happened in the last 50 or so years.
Be an up person! Be optimistic.

Yes I agree with you, I think it's becoming like this because the only thing anyone cares about is stabbing you in the back the first chance they get so they can have just a little bigger piece of the pie, the worlds governments would rather spend millions of dollars to build missles but won't put up a couple of grand to help the homeless, Yes, the world is s**t, the only chance this world has is to shake us off like a bad case of fleas.

You don't have a representative memory of history at say the young age of under 30 to tell.
A president who was put into office by dubious means, New Orleans under martial law, corruption in government, and A deep racial divide adequately describes the United States...
During the administration of Rutherford B Hayes.
Young people dying every day at an unimportant war, A Christian President who is a a stubborn bigot, Budget deficits because we are at war and are trying to pay for domestic programs at the same time.
... Lyndon Johnson
America loosing strength to foreign competition, high unemployment, Every rising gas prices. Soaring inflation.
... Jimmy Carter.

Show me a decade in the last 2000 years when there was peace in the world.
Media coverage leans towards the negative from all corners of the globe. where theres trouble theres news.
Major advances in Science, medicine ,technology and humanity seem to go unnoticed.
If anything the world is a better place.

No, it's not just you that feels that way. Human beings are "naturally" self-destructive by nature. It is a whole lot easier to be bad then good. We are our own worst enemy and in order to change the world, we have to take a look at ourselves. Have you ever heard the song by Alvin Lee (Ten Years After) "I'd love to change the world....but I don't know what to do...so I'll leave it up to you..." ?
