This type of dialogue was stopped because it was considered a negative stereotype. If a movie was made about the Internet and the people blogged like that would it be considered a negative stereotype or just accurate? Look at a lot of the questions posted on this site.

Accurate! People need to be as careful online with their grammar as they would if they were writing with actual pen and paper. As for the way Indians talked in old westerns, I surmise that it wasn't overtly meant to be insulting but started as an exaggerated example of how they might have talked as English would be a very foreign language compared to whatever they spoke but wasn't exactly left in to flatter people's collective image of Indians.
