We've been spending $15 million dollars a year for decades just trying to kill off wild hemp that hasn't been grown commercially in 70 years. Good luck killing off ALL forms of cannabis.

To answer your question directly, no, it's not that bad. It can be used in moderation much more benignly than alcohol, and contrary to the establishment mantra, it does not lead to harder drugs. Dissatisfaction with pot and a need (psychological) for a more pronounced escapism leads to harder drugs. Most alcoholics smoked cigarettes before their first drink. Does that make a connection, somehow?

I think pot isn't the best thing someone should be doing, but people make mistakes and try it. That's alright in my books (I've never done it), to make just one mistake. However, I don't believe they should continue with their use and should put forth an effort to stop it somehow. Also, I believe it should still be illegal in the U.S., as it has no positive benefits whatsoever in the long run. Don't listen to all the BS about it expanding your mind, it doesn't. In the end, the user destroys his or her life in one way or another. I don't share this same compasion for dealers, however. I believe they should be ruthlessly eraticated from our society. A drug dealer is one of the worst types of scum in this world. There's my 2 cents!
