English cuisine and culture?

I am planning on moving to England. I've been annoyingly told that England has nothing good to offer, but I think it is the best! I need to get out of america for some time. I can't wait to try real British cuisine and check out the culture there. What do you think about the cuisine and the culture? Can any natives of England give me some tips or facts?? I love English people!
