It definately more complex, mainly too many laws on how to raise a kid, when I was young, my parents can leave me home alone without getting into trouble but not now, you have to watch you children 24/7. Also you can't spank a kid as much as previous generation, or they'll report you for child abuse if child tell on you in school. Because these laws children can't go out to play as much by themselves, unless an adult follows them . In the previous generations, kids always played outside, which is definately better for their overall health. Children are obese today because of these restrictions.

Raising children today is no more complex than it ever was.
The problems they face may be more complex, but mostly because of technology and choices.
If you teach your children manners, right from wrong, work ethics and how to think for themselves, they should be able to make informed, ethical decisions about drugs, premarital sex and other tough choices.
The biggest problem today is that many adults have chosen to ignore what is right and go with what they want. And these are the ones teaching the children.
They go over the speed limit, and say that's ok, because they can handle the car at a higher speed. They cheat on their income tax, because they feel the government has enough of their money. The feel a little or social use of illegal drugs is ok, because they can control it, and arent addicts.
We see our leaders take wrong contributions, make bad decisions, take money under the table, and every day we see people use lawyers to break and bend the law because of the wording of a contract.

Kids 2dai are more complex 2 raise bcuz there iz more in the world now then there waz back then. Do u understand? The technology iz so adanced that new thing come out every day so u kno u gotta get it 4 ur kid jus cuz he/she wants it. Also hting are gettin more and more exppensive. Everything iz starting 2 jump in price. So if ur on the poor end of the society stick i suggest that u don have any kids till the cituation gets betta.

Not really if there were more"modern" parents that would wake up and see that the world has changed and some need to change with it. Raising children will always be a complexed issue.

At the basic level, in my opinion, it's about the same.
There is always going to be some technology kids have that their parents didn't deal with. Electricity, cars, telephones, email, cell phones, ... the list goes on and on. and with each one of those advances, kids appear to get more freedoms and abilities to get into more trouble.
But the thing is, if you try to raise your kids by what's in your world today, you'll always be behind. If you try to instill principles and morals, you'll always stay a step ahead.

Lets be Honest. Kids today suck. I am a "kid" in todays society and the things i hear about other kids and teens doing is just crazy!!! I would beat the **** out of half these kids if i were there parents and they talked to me like that...
Just last week my friends brother, 10, was screaming at his mom, telling her she was a "f*ching b*itch" and a "wh0re" and stuff and it was crazy.
