Just wondering what the general population think about this topic in the UK. I'm from North America and my wonderful partner is from Europe, so we are curious to find out what people's perceptions are in the UK, where we are living . We don't have children, but we are considering it for the future. Serious answers would be appreciated. Thanks!

Do you think that the politically correct policies being administered may be a devious ploy to stir up racial hatred against you as opposed to 'protect' your feelings as they claim?

The recent banning of xmas decorations in the workplace has stirred up a fervour of anger and, in some, resentment against ethnic minorites. Yet when questioned, the ethnic minorities don't really seem to have any issue with christians (and let's face it, you don't need to be religious or christians) celebrating the xmas period with traditional decor.

Some of the comments I've heard in light of this news, from individuals that I really wouldn't expect, have been pretty damning towards you lot, and I personally feel that this frustration, anger and resentment is being directed towards the wrong people.

Is there a more devious underlying strategy in motion?

I've read that a lot of UK firms are banning the hanging of Christmas decorations and Christmas celebrations in general, in case they offend or upset ethnic monority staff.

This is in a country where we are constantly forced to celebrate our multicultural society - with annual 'Mela's' and festivals etc.

Just trying to guage public opinion from UK answerers - but if you have strong opinions please feel free to post them - wherever you're from.

Really, it's only a middle school winter dance. It's semi-formal, I just have no idea what to wear. I have a tux shirt and black pants, if that helps at all.

Here is the problem:
Twin A(14yrs) will die in three months because of bad kidneys unless she gets transplant. Twin A is outgoing, intellegent, and everyone feels she will be very successful if she lives. At the time (not with the technological advances of today) the only kidney transplant that will be successful is from her twin. All other transplants will be unsucessful (according to then). This operation is usually safe but there is some risk like any surgery. Both twins can live with one kidney. The parents want this operation to be done but there is an issue. Twin B does not want to donate her kidney. Unlike her twin she is a very sad(depressed), shy, and unsocial person. Twin B feels rejected because all attention has been given to her sister who is ill.Twin B has always hated TwinA who has been given more attention and love. Twin b has been given psychiatric treatment and other things to change her mind but no success.

if you were to operate on Twin A.would you why? 3reaso

I have observed that students resort to Yahoo Answers frequently; their method of approach more often than not is simply pasting the question.
I used the internet quite a lot during my MBA, mostly for research and acquiring data... Yahoo answers though is a new product and pretty much ofers instant solutions to not just generic questions but mathematical equations etc because people are ready to pounce on the questions to win a best answer, or simply to help out.
The internet deprived the world of academia of reesearch out in the open to a large extent (which people like me prefer since I am working as a head of research in an investment bank AND I like my time spent in front of the PC too). But what about having your questions solved by real people instantaneously? We did have chat rooms but they are places where most of the people are away pr not willing to cater to the needs of a whining student.
So: Assignment help on Yahoo Answers
What is your take on this?
