The news is so sad and depressing. The fighting. wars, poverty and torture. The bad news nearer to home of (again) poverty, racial tension, muggings, murder. Even the less serious happenings like councils doing their very best to ban Christmas, bit by bit. Fearful of offending our ethnic 'friends' while we are seriously offended by being made to feel like second class citizens in our own country.

The waste of human life through illness or accident, especially the very young, tugs on our heartstrings. Cruelty to animals and abuse of children makes me cry.

We read all this in our newspapers every day and here it on the news, how do we cope with the enormity of it all.? Do we try to do something about a particular problem? Do our actions depend on how aware we are or how socially commited?

Things make me seethe when I read about them but usually it wears off by the close of the day, am I heartless or is it normal?

I , like other people , are totally bamboozled by this 'creeping' nonsense. I think it is a detestable type of middle class snobbery , a 'banning society' and if you don't comply , you are completely ignored. Well , sorry , I don't want to belong to such a society that treats others like lepers , just because they don't live their lives the way they are told to. What I call "The Health Police" BAN THIS PC CROWD!!!!. A form of mild Nazi-ism.

Some say that there are two sides - 'we should look at both sides of the question, even the nicest guy can do this if pushed to his limits'. Do you think this is true? Is this sort of violence really excusable? 'It takes two to tango'. Does it?

Do you think its possible for people to have same-sex fantasies and that to be where it begins and ends...JUST a fantasy? As in, not something they would or intend to act on. Or do you think this is just a manifestation of unfufilled same-sex desires that will eventually come out and/or get bigger to the point where the person feels they need more than just the fantasy?
Note- please don't try to give me personal advice on this, as I'm not asking about this from my experience, just hypothetically. Also, please don't tell me about how being gay, or having same sex attractions is wrong. I don't care to hear that whining.

such as tagging them, 41 days in prison (which does not write off the debt), taking the driving licience and passport of these deadbeat men and women. I think it is great only not far enough in America they name and shame these men in the newspapers i think we should start doing that here too.

1. Refuses to allow ramblers access to the communal land trail which runs through her property;

2. Sidesteps the legal process for adoption in a Third World country;

3. Allows 20 furry creatures (or more) to die so that she can wear fur.

Who am I talking about and why should we ditch her?????

NB PUTTING ON THE DOG......my English Springer Whitlock used to climb up on the sofa and wrap himself around my shoulders. It looked good. A living fur! I sent a photo to the World Wildlife Association. I thought it would make a good ad campaign. I still do.

Why are British people obsessed with WWI and WWII ? They show lots of old war movies on tv all the time and even people whose parents were not even born in WW II are still showing some weird sort of "anger" against Germans, hidden under some sarcastic shield of jokes, as if they experienced the war themselves....

I also can not imagine the UK was hit that heavily in those wars anyway- as otherwise they would have had to rebuilt the towns...but look at London - a terrible traffic problem. If the city had been completely bombed, they would have a had the chance to build a better road system....and design it from scratch - or was London bombed completely? Can not imagine that....and I think other cities were hardly affected....

Who cares about WWII anyway? I dont even care about wars that are going on right now....why should anyone care about a war that was 70 years ago? Apart from that. countries like German learned their lesson that war is never a solution...the USA and UK haven't
