Not all graffiti looks terrible - its a great form of art... there just needs to be designated spaces for it and not on the side of buildings. A lot of people also use graffiti to make custom shirts for shoppers in the mall - both clever and creative. I agree it looks terrible on the sides of buildings, but not everywhere... If it's used for good and not for gang signs and whatnot, then its alright.

I agree with you partly. The people who graffiti to show there gang signs and ruin the communities..its horrible and yes they do need to get a life.

But theres a lot of people who create graffiti art that is simply beautiful...to decorate and give a little life in their town. Of course..it is allowed by the city. Its not vandalism.

Depends. If it's just a crappy "tag", let's say it's like two letters with a star or something, no that's not art. However, I think if a bunch of people get together and cover an entire wall with something genuinely artistic that means something to them, then yes that's art, and looks good in most cases. If they're wasting their time writing their name or something, then they should go and do something different, something useful, because they know it's going to be removed/painted over eventually.

Yes and no,in the wrong place there wrong, but in some places they brighten up the place, I do agree that they should get a life, even a job using this talent would be better, but I know that most of this work is skillful, and skills I don't have

I'd also lump in rude, selfish jerks who turn up the stereo volume so that everyone has to listen to their taste in music, whether they want to or not.

Graffiti, as an art style - some is beautiful, some is junk. Definitely should only be done on someone's property who's agreed to it. Tagging is just vandalism, wrong, rude, and an advertisement that you aren't amounting to much and your life isn't turning out so well.

Absolutely! What is worse is that some of the brainless chavs perpetrating this crime seriously try to claim that it is a form of political free expression. No! Writing inspiring slogans on the Berlin wall is one thing, scribbling a grotesque 'tag' on the public library is quite another! And don't get me started on Banksy, whose mediocre spray-stencillings have inspired hundreds of even less talented copy-cats to have the arrogance to believe they can inflict their daubings on the community and that no one should complain because it's 'Art'!

I agree with you. Graffiti is a waste of a clear space.

I agree if the graffiti is just "gang tags". But some of the elaborate stuff is cool and could be used for murals in advertisement or for parks

Some graffiti is actually quite stylish and aesthetically pleasing. But most is like most street culture, largely ****.
