such as tagging them, 41 days in prison (which does not write off the debt), taking the driving licience and passport of these deadbeat men and women. I think it is great only not far enough in America they name and shame these men in the newspapers i think we should start doing that here too.

I think its all brilliant, if they actually do it!
I waited 13 years for the CSA to sort out maintenance for my son and daughter from my ex. He tried every trick in the book to get out of it, this year they took him to court for back maintenance for our son and finally got some money out of him.
At present he still does not contribute to our daughter! He has his own company and he and his new girlfriend and HER daughter live in luxury while we struggle. He even refused to pay his share of the mortgage on our jointly owned property so that it got repossessed!
I would also add that he has always seen the children regularly too, every wednesday evening and every other weekend - after all its not the kids faults!
I look forward to them coming down tough on him - but will it be in another 13 years!!!! I also agree that they should be named and shamed maybe they would think twice about it then!

I am a man who pays CSA payments. I have done for the last 6 years without missing one payment. So not all CSA payers are deadbeats. The reason i am paying CSA is because my ex wife had an affair , divorced me , took my house, moved her boyfriend in, even had my dog put down coz i could not take it with me . By her making me pay CSA payments instead of our original agreement i now have to have two jobs and i have been forced to move into 1 room because of her . To top it all i now have found out about a week ago that the w*nker who has moved into MY house is now also smacking my child .
So does this mean that all women are lying , cheating , 2 timing , money grabbing , gold digging bitches???????You tell me.

I am a married male who is living with my wife and my two children and do not have children which I don't support. So I have no beef with the CSA one way or the other.
Let me clear up one point for you though in that they are allowing names to be published on the net so the Government and you are thinking along the same lines as you want them published. While I have no time for irresponsible men, I don't think it is as clear-cut as you make it out to be. unfortunaely a percentage of women have children after one -nights stands or have multiple partners where it is unclear who the father is.
You must remember women also suffer from the CSA when they are second partners and the man has to pay to his ex-wife though she may have met someone else.
Although these new measures are more interested in saving benefits etc than real concern for the individuals involved. I would also be wary of stigmatising people with prison as it may be a disincentive to report wayward people for one. Secondly the prisons are already full! Who would you want let out to make space for these people? Or would you vote for higher taxes so we can have more prisons which mean more people not paying taxes and less incentive to work etc?

The govt is taking the piss actually, all they had to do was increase the absent parents NH contribution and it would have been sorted. Remember labour wants everybody controlled by the state and wasting money on the State.
TB will think of as many scams to rob non Govt employees as the / he can.
