I feel sorry for those who lost loved ones...but it seems as if we have turned it into a facade. "Support out troops" on the back of every car....more like support the people who made these stickers! Every other country song is dedicated to the war simply for profit.

People say "with all due respect" just before thay disrespect you.

Or say "no offence" just after they've offended you.

I just read an answer that seemed to totally agree with my views of immigration, I am for legal immigration, then I re-read it again(English is my second language) and this person said something about killing illegal immigrants. I am totally horrified about this. It will be a long time before I rate any answers again.

hi, i am a teacher, and my students will have to defend their native language/a debate with another school defending the use of English in our daily life. People nowadays are using English language (specially English expressions) in public places/chattings,etc.. The point is how to preserve our language, and do we speak English as to be "on with fashion", up to date, to show that we are educated, etc...
This applies to all schools who teach English as their second language. Our native language is Arabic but the arguments apply to all educators, and i guess the French will understand me more and be helpfull here
Thanks

Since the dawn of time, prostitution has existed. Its an old saying but its described as the oldest profession in the world. Surely if we de-criminalised prostetution then this would make it a cleaner, safer enviroment for those working in the sex industry.

If well regulated it would help to minimise the criminal element of it, stop trafficking of young girls, the drug element etc.

Could we not use the resources used to prosecute these women to help them away from prostitution? Why not just prosecute the men that use prostitutes, after all, if there wasn't a demand?

Serious answers only please

My Boss is visiting Paris and he wants me to be with him when he attends the meeting. I initially agreed but when i found that I'll be in the same hotel room I got little concerned. Should I go ahead as planned?

I have allways liked watching the christmas cartoons, especially rudolph, and I still sympathize and feel sorry for the misfit. I hardly ever got to watch them when a kid, so as I grew up, seemed to really like them. Maybe it was a rebellious thing? I still enjoy them as if I was a child. Is that weird, or normal. Allthough, I heard a rumer that Santa clause was not real...lol....all I know is his cute little female elves are.

A woman my wife knows has suggested that we 'make bacon'.

I don't really like bacon, and I don't know why she wants to make it.
Isn't it easier just to buy some?

In today's context: some words that are supposed to reinforce egalitarian outlook towards human rights, bring alive some bad images and many people aren't too enthused to take mainly these words kindly: multiculturalism, globalization, liberalism, feminism etc.

Even though the purpose of these terminology was RIGHT, why do people don't like to identify with it anymore.

Strange as this question seems it came up at work and it has really divided people, particularly along the gender divide. So I want to put the question to the wider public. Here's the situation:

If you had no other option, and you HAD to have money but all you have to trade is your body would you rather a) sell an organ b) work temporarily as a prostitute?

Which option would you choose and why?

...but surely there are natural 'roles' in the household, right?

I mean, I think it is good women have 'come out of the home' into the working world - I have seen many good careers for them, such as pin-ups, posters etc...

So what is going on here?!?

,,and express that you dont think it is nessessary to test these products on animals? It could make all the difference to those animals that are in these experiment labs by saying that you would continue to use this product without such tests. We have to start somewhere to put an end to such cruelty. They live their entire lives in hell & we CAN change that if we try. Thx ;O)
