Recently on Dog show, I heard that felons lose their rights to vote, get a license and buy a home. Is this true?

They do lose their right to vote. Thank goodness!!! Do you want people who commit felonies to decide who runs your country???

My brother is a felon (released and paid his entire debt to society), and he owns property and has a license, but he cannot vote.

the only one that is false, is buying a home. But the others voting, all felons lose this right. However, you can regain it in some cases. Repeat DUI offenders also lose their right to obtain a license in most states.

felons often receive additional punishments such as the loss of voting rights, exclusion from certain lines of work, prohibition from obtaining certain licenses, exclusion from purchase/possession of firearms or ammunition, and ineligibility to run for or be elected to public office. In addition, some states consider a felony conviction to be grounds for an uncontested divorce. These, among other losses of privileges not included explicitly in sentencing, are known as collateral consequences of criminal charges.

They lose their right to vote and they can not own fire arms. It doesn't matter what kind of felony. My father went to prison when he was 22 for forgery and because of that can not vote or own a fire arm.
