Yes. When someone cannot fix a undesirable situation, violence is usually the response. This is how they feel in control. I think the earth's demise has nothing to do with violent people. People, especially here in the U.S., are impatient. We need to see results right away. Fixing earth and seeing the results are not going to happen in our life time. We get discouraged if we cannot see a difference from our efforts, therefore we stop trying.
How can one person stop a factory from dumping toxins in our water? Do you know why the factorys do not stop dumping, even when they are fully aware of their actions? It's all about the money. It is a sad state of affairs. I am a nature lovin tree hugger and it sickens me to see how our earth is being treated.

P.S. If no one bought a live Christmas tree, what would happen?
Lets plant a forest, not cut it down.

yes, violence is contagious. that explains why people who physically abuse their children are often found to have been abused in this way in their own childhood. if we didn't consider violence and war as an acceptable strategy, then conflicts would be resolved by other means. we can do this in our daily lives, so this should also be possible for nations. unfortunately, it is alot easier to say than to actual do....
