Really, it's only a middle school winter dance. It's semi-formal, I just have no idea what to wear. I have a tux shirt and black pants, if that helps at all.

For a semi-formal you really only need to go in slacks or khakis and a dress shirt and dress shoes. A jacket would be nice and a tie is optional. You probably don't need the tux shirt, but if it's all you have, it's fine. Hope this helps and have fun!

Wear real shoes, a Suit and tie. Do not wear your Tux gear, or sneakers. Formal is Tux wear. No sports coats either. Hey, for 10 bucks you can get a used one from Salvation Army Thrift stores, and if you buy one large around the middle it will last for years in your closet. Always ready to wear to weddings, funerals and such.

Semi formal would generally mean a dark suit and tie. You could get by with a sports coat and slacks and tie. Do a search on "mens semi formal attire" for some more info.

that would be fine, as long as you wear dress shoes, not your grotty sneakers. a bow tie would also help. Or If you have a suit, that would work as well.
