Why is it that those with the least, have these 'pie in the sky' expectations. That either god will save them or they'll hit the lottery. I happen to qualify as "poor" and do not participate in either. I guess if good old fashioned hard work doesn't get me there, nothing will.

In the news today there was a quote:

"Girls as young as five are sensitive about their bodies in a "weight-hostile" environment that equates popularity and attractiveness with thinness, an international conference of experts has heard."

What do you think of the fact that girls as young as 5 years old are concerned about weight? What does this say about our culture? what can we do about it?

I have seen many offensive comments on female body parts and I think its time to stop. DOnt you think beyond that, I mean can a woman only impress you by body and other assets dont matter. Please stop treating women like a commodity, will you?

I live in a city and we had a block party and most of the block participated. We had a really great D.J. from noon till 5:00. Everyone was in the street dancing and having a great time and the music was great, a little bit of everything. It was happy, happy, happy, kind of like being at a wedding. When the D.J. left,my husband brought out his huge stereo and all his equipment and offered to take over. All the neighbors were bringing him their c.d's and I went and got mine. He would only play his Charlie Daniels music (we live near New York City). It was blasting and I could tell people were getting annoyed. My son kept telling me to stop him but he acted like a spoiled child and would not let me near his sound system. It was embarrassing. He also did this at my baby shower last summer, just came out in the yard and set up and started blasting Charlie Daniels which I don't even like. I don't barbeque anymore because he will start with the music.

I am currently trying to start an at-home business but my family tells me I will never do it. I know I can, I just have to keep working at it. The crazy thing is when I do, and I'm making money, they will want some. Being the good person that I am, I will give them some. However, I think they should have my back. I constantly tell them it would be great if I and they could be in business for myself, ans they could too because they hate their job and make little money like I do. So, I tell them why not try to make good money from home. But if they don't agree,they shouldn't try to make me feel bad for trying to better myself. So, I know one day I will start my business and I can't wait to see the stupid look on their faces. Has anyone ever proved anyone wrong whether it was graduating from college, or getting married, quitting smoking, or overcoming any obstacle?

Caucasoid, *******, Mongoloid, Australoid, Capoid? I personally think there are more. I think there are about 5 or more different African sub species that I have seen, some that look more white, and some asian( It's silly to say South Africans with eye folds and similar facial structure to Asians are the same race as Ethiopians, or West Africans. I wouldn't group native indians with Mongoloids anymore even if they descended from Asians. I wouldn't group all Native Indians together either you can find many different sub species from North to South America. I wouldn't group Native Austrailians with South or North Indians. There are genetic differences between Hawaians and the Chinese for example. You even originally had different races of caucaians some that look somewhat Asian and some that look more ******* in facial structure like Mick Jagger. I think there are probably like 100 races on the planet right now including racial mixing. How many can you count?

I mean this seriously; I've seen quite a few people poke fun at the folks that don't spell well, or ask questions that we think should be obvious. The fact that they are asking means that they don't know the answer, and they KNOW that they don't know. That is the true start of intelligence (or maybe wisdom); to know that you don't know. We really shouldn't be making fun of people that are less knowledgable than we are.

What are we here for, if not to help others?

Ok, so I think I need some help. Lots of help. I am a 20yr old guy, got to college, very well educated, blah blah blah. Point is from the outside you would think I was completely normal. here is the thing. I have an infatuation with crossdressing or wanting to paint my fingernails. Basically lots of girl things, I want them but dont want to be a girl and I am not gay at all. I have a gf. I have had this infatuation since I was young and it drives me insane, and at times i feel like it could run my life, i have spent hours before looking a pics of guys crossdressed or them having there nails painted. I know it sounds like i need a real doctor and i probobly do, but i dont have the money at all. Basically my problem is liking these feminine things, I dont know if i should feed this and just ... or try an solve it. PLease Help??

I may be moving to Texas in 11-12 months, for two reasons: 1. I LOVE Texas! 2. I HATE where I live, Kentucky (Louisville-Lexington-Frankfor... metro area.) I may be participating in a domestic exchange program at universities in one of three cities: 1. College Station (near Houston), 2. San Marcos (near Austin and San Antonio), and 3. Denton (near Dallas and Fort Worth.)

For a college kid in a small town in Kentucky, which do you think would be the best fit for me. I'm not an active contributor and spectator of the arts, but I do like to have access to it. I'm not a huge shopper, but want to be close to city amenities. I'm used to living in the suburbs and not inner-city, so I want something likewise (except, of course, Texas' small-town friendliness is unmatched, in my experience. TX is MUCH friendlier than KY, even in the cities!)

Which of these areas do you suggest? Should I live in these towns, or commute to school there from one of the nearby larger cities? Thanks!

I'm 14 years old and I go to HighSchool.....My problem is that I don't know if I have any real friends or not....See I don't know how to play football, it's just the rules and stuff I don't get and plus I feel lonley at school and I feel like no one cares about me which I know my family do, but it's hard because I try to act different in order to fit in, but I always end up telling myself i just don't fit in. Should I just end my life or something??? There are days at school which is fun and then there are other days where I feel like people don't care and they just ignore me....Life sucks and I hate it.....
