Are they all lazy? Are they drug addicts? No family? Homeless as a profession? I have seen some begging for money who I know can wash cars, bag groceries, pick strawberries, etc etc. We have immigrants traveling thousands of miles to America, not speak a word of english and earn a decent living. Your thoughts....

OK so I always wanted to get as rich as possible at the expense of my own personal fulfilment, purely to support my ailing parents who will soon be inable to support themselves. This would mean that, whilst I was doing a 'good deed', I would be missing out on so much the owlrd has to offer.

OR I could say 'sod money and a decent career' and just live life to the full, but at the same time jeopardising my parents wellbeing and seeing them banged up in some crusty home.

What would you do? Thanks

....I don't like football. I don't hate it but just can't get in to it no matter how hard I try, and this is especially irksome seeing as the world cup is on at the moment!

Every time there is a match on my housemates invite everyone around for a BBQ (which I enjoy), then a football quiz before the game, which is when I retire to my room.

Is this being anti-social? My presence during the game is not missed by them and we all understand each other, but should I make an effort even though I can't seem to enjoy the sport?

I'd be happy to hear your thoughts but nothing insulting please!

I responded this in another post. I can't believe what people are apparently being taught in school these days.

CIVIL WAR WAS NOT ABOUT SLAVERY. THE CONFEDERATE FLAG DOES NOT REPRESENT SLAVERY.


The civil war was NOT about slavery. The only reason slavery was brought up during the war was because Lincoln (wisely so) saw an opportunity to recruit more soldiers. He freed the slaves (even his own)if they fought for the north.

The fact is, most people in the south did not own slaves. The wealthy few did. To think that the thousands and thousands of poor or middle class white people in the south were willing to go to war for the slaves of a few wealthy people is ludicrous.

The confederate flag represents history for a great number of people in this country. To tie it to racism is ignorant.

Am I removing the paper from tin cans (before recycling them) for nothing? What happens to cans that have the paper still on? Are they recycled, thrown away or treated in some way?

Whilst I realise some of the deleted questions may by racially, sexually motivated etc etc, and others just provoking hateful responses, is it not a basic human right that we should ALL have the right to free speech and be able to voice our opinions?

I received an invitation to attend the 25th reunion of my high school class. I was teased a lot in high school and it went beyond name calling, etc. I had food thrown at me and damage done to my parents home. A rumor was also spread about me and drug use that school administrators believed. I did not find true friends until I joined the Navy which led to me staying in for 20 years.
Now after 25 years and because my siblings who live in my home state gave away my address my classmates who abused me through high school want me to join them. I probably won't go as I live in California and the flight will be expensive. I am thinking about writing a letter to my class letting them know how their abuse affected me and asking them not to include me in any future class activities. I also think about going just to boast about the fact I am retired military and that I married a beautiful woman (There were also rumors that I was gay). Thanks in advance for the help.

I put my applications in at a couple places about 3 to 4 weeks ago and no one's called yet ... Should I call in and ask if there's been any progress made ? Or is that too tacky ?
