I had a translation in English from a Spanish friend as follows:

"you are leaving".

I'm confused as "tu" means "your","te" means "you" as an object pronoun and "vas" means"you leave".Aided by my poor level in Spanish,I think that "you are leaving" is equal to "(Tú) vas" in Spanish.Thus "tu te vas" may have a different meaning.PLZ explain

I was going to get a tattoo saying "You only live once" in latin, but i dont want to trust an online translator because i know there not always right. The translator came up with "Vos tantum ago quondam". If there is anyone that knows how to speak latin and english that could verify if this is correct, please let me know. Thanks.

What is the difference between "Foreign" and "International"?

Background:
I work for an International Education College in a Chinese university, in charge of enrollment of foreign and overseas Chinese students. Recently the authorities told me to change all "Foreign Students" into "International Students" to save some words. Because they believe international students may include students from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, which are parts of China(these areas are special). -_-b Furthermore, most Chinese universities do the same way.

Hello everyone.

English is my second language so when I came across this term it sounded sorta confusing. A quick google search would get you results like 'Color Me Kubrick' (movie), color me beautiful, color me frog or color me egypt. And I was wondering

A) what it meant and
B) how it's used

because I can't really see a pattern here.


Any detailed explanation (including origins) is much appreciated

I know some German but my problem is, I need to know how to say I speak some german. I know how to say Ich spreche Deutsch but that's not true in my case because I'm not totally fluent yet. I have been saying Ich spreche klein Deutsch which isn't proper and I need to know the proper way of saying I only speak a little German or only know a little German whichever would be a good way of getting the point across that I'm not totally fluent and only know some German.

I would like to know because I was asked this question by a group of Chinese students, and could only come up with a few examples in spelling (the English use "s" instead of "z" or "c" for the "s" sound), and the accent.

Can anyone come up with anything else? I know there are some smart people out there. :)
