As you will no doubt know, (if you are English at least) the term is used when you utter a swear word unintentionaly in company. are we saying that "somethng" French is naughty, dirty, what?
Today at work the expression was uttered to a young French girl working in my department here in Eire & she was dumbfounded as she had never heard the expression before.
when she asked as to what it was supposed to mean they stated "it is an English thing!" and pointed her in my direction as to the answer...Me being English that is!
The only suggestion I can think of is that it is some sort of derogotary term associated with the long standing feud between our Countries & probably stems back to feudal times or the like? any suggestions anyone?

I mean each word is it's own character isn't it? That would be one huge keyboard. I hate to sound naive and all but, I was just sort of wondering.

for passe compose uses etre et avoir..

for avoir + er verb ..I get it..quite easy..just add the auxilary j'ai/as/a/avons/avez/ont...and then the verb with that e accent thing

avoir with other verb ending..i need to learn the new spelling of them right? like lire is lu? and dire is dis? or am i wrong?
boire is bu...sigh..I'm so stupid...

j'ai dit....what is the passe compose of dit with etre je suis dit?

I'm so confused...sorry if my question sounds stupid..

for passe compose avec etre..suis/es/est/somme/etes/sont with the verb...

If it is feminine..I need to say je suis allee
masculine je suis alle

is the following correct?
tu es alle(e)
nous sommes alle(e)s
vous etes alle(e)
ils/elles sont alle(e)s?
I need to the add s to ils/elles ..is that all?
