I am about to choose classes for my freshman year. How can I choose which language to do? Some of my friends are doing one, while the others are doing another so that wouldn't really influence me. I've heard that German is easier to learn because it's closer to English, but Spanish seems to be more usefull around here since you sometimes run into a Spanish speaking person. Is there any opinions out there that you'd like to share with me to help me choose?

Looking on this site makes me realise that many don't know how to use one and don't care.

I see standard plurals almost every day with misplaced apostrophes.

The ones who say they don't care are always the ones who don't understand how to use one! Noticed that?

So, I thought I would ask and see how many people understood what this poor abused mark actually means.

I appreciate that perhaps I am sad!

Grammar errors and lack of vocab and fluency. For example, i'm just a quiet guy with average skills overall in all areas of my life. i dont' do anything to perfection. nothing. Ok, but at least i know some stuff and am interested in learnng.

Then i say "I want to become fluent at some foreign language" and immediately i get the "You're not even good with English, how can you be fluend in another language?"

Or i say "I want to teach English to foreigners"...and i get "Your english skills are crap....you shouldn't be teaching"

Why is it people are so mean like that? Perhaps in real life people don't go around telling me i'm a low life with no english proficiency , but there's plenty of those kind of comments here in Yahoo answers.

My quetion is why? Do they think they are better than others?
