I mean, when you call a company, Verizon, for instance, you have the option to pick English, push 1, Spanish, push 2. I mean it isn't a big deal to push the 1, but why have it in the first place?

Who was the one that decided we should use Spanish as the second choice?

One of the teachers in my school always uses the "oo" sound instead of the "ew" sound in words like "skew", so he pronnounces the word "skoo".

I need a good name for a translation agency.
It is Polish-English / English-Polish company that I will found in 2007. I'll be doing mostly translations and interpretations, and also help with the paperwork.
I'll appreciate any suggestion!
Thanks

It is for my young daughter to give to her teaching assistant who is leaving tomorrow. The grammar needs to be correct so I don't think it will be sufficient to translate each individual word using a dictionary. Thank you

Dear Mr

Thank you for helping us in 'Magpies' class. Sorry you are leaving. I will miss you. Special thanks for teaching me how to sing 'head, shoulders, knees and toes' in German.

Good luck

Let's just say for the sake of arguement, that today is Monday the first of January. If someone were to say to me "I'll meet you next Thursday", would they be refering to the 4th of January or the 11th?

I don't want to exclude Non-Britains from this but I am interested to see what British people have to say about this in particular. So if you are Non-British feel free to answer but do say where you're from.
