I was wondering how comes Wales has their own language since the rest of Uk speak English? just doesn't add up..........

OK folks, let's play a little game! I'll ask a question and the first answer that I consider correct, clear and complete gets 10 points. Can anybody tell me what's the difference between Simple and Perfect verb forms? For example:

"I saw." / "I have seen."

"I was seen." / "I have been seen."

Can both forms be used as synonyms in any case, or are there any particularities which we have to pay attention to?

Im goin to germany. Im trying to learn how to speak it myself.So i have this online thing were u translate a word from english to german. So i type the word"could" and there are like 10 diffrent ways to say "could" in german. Which german word do i know is the one they use.

I have the utmost respect for people who can switch from language to language without any problem. Once, I was on a tour in Spain, and the tour guide gave the tour in 4 different languages due to the group we were with....English, Spanish, French, and German. Pretty cool!

My DH speaks Mandarin fluently mostly with his family, but he speaks English perfectly too, and you'd never know he wasn't born in the U.S.

Why does yahoo answers allow you to write the word asshole on these pages but blanks out the first 3 letters if used alone? They also bleep out a-r-s-e.
