Why does yahoo answers allow you to write the word asshole on these pages but blanks out the first 3 letters if used alone? They also bleep out a-r-s-e.

Profanity filters.
These are not actual people, but software... The parameters are preset by someone 'in charge' who presumes to know what is offensive to most of us.
These guidlines are often unrealistic! How hard is it to put profanity in a question or answer if you really want to?

i know. ive typed asshole before and assumed that it would have been bleeped but it wasnt and i got reported.
