I was wondering how comes Wales has their own language since the rest of Uk speak English? just doesn't add up..........

actually, it is only the best preserved of the original languages spoken in the UK.

scottland has scottish gaelic and lowland scots is still spoken by an estimated 30% of the scottish lowland population.
northern ireland traditionally speaks irish gaelic.
cornwall speaks cornish.

just because welsh is the only regional language you have heard about, doesn't make it the only one. in fact, the UK does not have english as it's official language, rather it is the de facto language spoken because of it's overwhelming linguistic dominance.

Technically, they are their own country, such as Scotland and Ireland. They just want to be recognized as their own country with their own dialect. Also, if you have ever met any Welsh people, you will note that their accents are different from the average British accent.

I THINK ITS COOL THEY HAVE THEIR OWN LANGUAGE. OF COURSE THEY PROBALY SPEAK ENGLISH TOO AS A SECOND LANGUAGE. WISH I COULD SPEAK SOME WELSH, IM PART WELCH.

SCOTLAND , NORTHERN IRELAND , HAVE THIER OWN AS WELL , PART'S OF ENGLAND HAVE AS WELL SUCH AS CORNISH
