I have 4 friends coming over to my apartment for Thanksgiving dinner. I have no problem with the cooking part. The problem is keeping my guests entertained. I have not entertained in a very long time. I'm always the guest at somebody else's place. I'm always great as an attending guest, but am nervous as a host for my own dinner party. I'm nervous about how to keep them entertained after dinner, so they don’t get bored in my apartment.

Any body got any ideas? Any games I can buy? Card games? Any advice would be well appreciated.

We're hosting Thanksgiving for the very first time, and it's going to be potluck.

Here's the menu thus far:
Turkey
(Smoked)
(Baked)

Stuffing

Bread
(Rolls)
(Pumpkin bread)
(Parker House rolls)

Potatoes
(Mashed Potatoes)
(Sweet Potato Casserole)

Veggies
(Salad)
(Green Bean Casserole)
(Broccoli Salad)
(Corn)

Fruits
(Fruit Salad)

Pies
(Sugar-Free Pumpkin)
(Lemon Meringue)
(Cherry)
(Cheesecake)
(Magnolia)
(Pecan)
(Pumpkin)

We're serving 16 people--all family. It's going to be crazy!

Should we include scalloped patotoes? Is there anything we're missing?

My boyfriend wants to do Thanksgiving at our house this year. We don't have a dining room set, so he wants to take a couple of sawhorses and put a piece of plywood on top with a table cloth. I think that this would be very tacky. I told him that we could have it at our house next year and he's determinded to have it at our house. The reason being he wants both our families to be there so we don't end up going out seperate from one another so this means 10-12 people at our house. ANY IDEAS?

Herb Roasted Turkey Breast (12 lb) with Pan Gravy
Apple-Cranberry Dressing
Mashed Potatoes
Sweet Potato Casserole
Fresh Cranberry-Orange Relish
Corn
Roasted Turnips
Maple-Glazed Yams OR Bruce's Old Time Candied Yams
Grean Bean Casserole
Zucchini Casserole
Salad
Dinner Rolls
Pie - Pumpkin/Apple/Cherry

Is this to many side dishes for Thanksgiving. Everyone's help is greatly appreciated.

Do you think its going to get Crazy like last year?
What do you usually buy? Or do you just go for the bargains?

It doesn't necessarily have to be something that will get eaten. I'd just like to make it be a nice presentation. Also, what can I put in the opening of the turkey. I cook the stuffing seperate, for health reasons, and don't bother putting it in the turkey once everything is cooked because of my picky hubby. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving.

I have 4 American people coming over. I am doing turkey, mash, gravy, pumpkin pie and brownies.
What veg should I have? What goes with the pumpkin pie (we'd eat custard but I don't suppose you do)?
Do you eat butternut squash with brown sugar and cinnamon as dessert or on the main meal plate?
What extent do you decorate your home?
Should any other food be provided?
What non alcoholic drinks should I serve?

Thank you so much!!

BTW, this question is asked on our mainsite, but we'd like to get as many responses as possible. Thanks!

So, the holidays are rapidly approaching & I am ready to get my Turkey on!

Not all turkeys are created equally!

Contrary to popular belief, some brands are truly better than others!

Which brand do you prefer my friend?

In our household, Butterball brand turkeys are the only turkeys, we buy!

They are juicy, tender & delicious, period!!

Need I say more?
