If you need to make a side for Thanksgiving, I would go with something easy like corn bread (from a mix) or even roast veggies. Just cut up a bunch of root vegetables, drizzle with olive oil salt & pepper, and roast at 375 for 30-45 minutes or until a fork goes in easily and they are browned on the edges. Good luck!

cut up a bunch of broccoli and cauliflower
lay it in a 9x12 cake dish
spoon out 2 cans of mushroom soup on top
(spread it around with a spoon)
grate 1 cup of cheddar cheese on top
cover with 2 cans of "French's onion rings"
(ask the grocer where they are in the store)
bake for 1 hour covered in foil... Done!
There's your awesome dish to bring to the Thanksgiving table. Call your mom and tell her you'll bring a gourmet veggie dish. Everyone (including kids) LOVES this dish and it's the easiest thing going!!!!

Does your family usually have sweet potatoes (they are traditional for some families). If so, try this:
Use a fork to stab holes in two large sweet potatoes, then microwave them for about six minutes and scoop the cooked potato out of the skin. Thinly slice a peeled Granny Smith apple, then put it on medium-low in a small skillet with two tablespoons of butter, a pinch of salt, a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice and cinnamon, about 1/8 cup of white sugar and 1/8 cup of brown sugar. I covered the skillet and let it all cook for about five minutes. When the apples were soft, pour them into the sweet potatoes and mash it all together with a fork.
Also, you could make pumpkin pie. Buy a frozen pie crust and follow this recipe http://www.verybestbaking.com/recipes/detail.aspx?ID=18470

green bean casserole is really easy and one of my husbands favs...all you do is get 3 cans of the french green beans, 1 can of cream of mushroom soup, and 1 can of the french onion rings(crunchy). just rub some butter along the bottom of a casserole dish and add the 3 cans of green beans (drain juice first). Open cream of mushroom soup and spread over the top. Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 30 min. Take out of oven sprinkle the french onion rings on top and put back in the oven for 15 min...yum yum

Go to a deli, order a turkey that is already made, and just heat it up. Tell people that you made it yourself, or that your friend helped make it at her house. They will appreciate you and they won't wonder why you weren't in the kitchen. Get some gravy and a little wine. It's all good
