okay i have 2 friends who's bday is on thanksgiving!! that is so cool dont u all think?

does anyone else have friends with that birthday or not?

I know not everybody is exactly alike. But in general, do Native Americans hate Thanksgiving and see it as a memory of white invasion, or do you just have a feast and enjoy it? Please excuse my ignorance.

I am carving a pumpkin and am wondering if you need to get out all the stringy stuff inside? If you don't can it catch fire? The more I try to get it all the more pumpkin shreds. Thanks for any help.

my husband and i moved from kc to brighton colorado in june we were doing ok till the employer laid him off wasn't supposed to happen but we are way behind in bills and rent we are trying to catch up he has a job i'm still looking christmas is looking very unsure i'm thinking of not putting the tree up but my children deserve a christmas and thanksgiving we have noone to help my family is back in kc thanks for reading and god bless!!!

I've noticed a couple of things. Lately there has been no Thanksgiving in the stores. What I mean by that is that it goes form Halloween stright to Christmas. And it seems all Thanksgiving is anymore is us getting together eating food, the men watch the food while the women clean up and then everyone leaves as soon as they can. Now I'm noticing that people aren't even calling Thanksgiving thanksgiving anymore there calling it turkey day. Does this prove my piont taht were a bunch of spoiled brats and aren't thankful for anything? Also do you need to know the orgigin if Thanksgiving to really apreated it. And is this hallady really all about food. Just like Christmas is all about getting presents? Jsut tell me what you think.

Grandparents are usually good cooks & they usually have those extra special, extra yummy dishes that they're famous for. My granny makes THEE best sweet potatoes ever!! They're like heaven on a plate! And Granddad makes the best tasting corn pudding & home made dinner rolls. I can't wait for Thanksgiving & I'm pregnant so I have an excuse to have a few extra plates!! Lol

I'm 17 and my Father and I are doing the cooking this year. Last Thanksgiving, my mother was in the hospital so we spent our thankgiving there. My mother and the rest of our family cooks. But this year, we are doing the cooking. What are some good things to cook. I'm making a List now so far I have,

~Turkey
~Ham
~Stuffing
~Collard Greens
~Mac N' Cheese
~Rolls or Cornbread
~Cranberry Sauce
~Green Beans, Glazed Carrots
~Pumpkin Pie
~Sweet Potato Pie
~Lemon Chess Pie
~Cakes


What else am I missing or do you think that's it. Thanksgiving is about spending time with Family and Friends and giving thanks to those you love. It's not the food that counts it's the family.

And one of our traditions is going shopping the day after. I love doing that. Is anyone else going to do the same or do you plan on going some weeks before.

I'm saying this too early but to everyone, Have a Happy and Safe Halloween and Thanksgiving.

What's cooking for Thanksgiving Dinner this year? We are having turkey of course (lol), sweet ham with honey and pineapple, stuffing, mashed potatoes and extra gravy, honey, buttered corn on the cob, homemade biscuits, spanish rice, pasteles, penin, sweet potatoe pies, apple pies, ice cream, potatoe salad, apple cider, beer, fruit punch, and a comfortable recliner to crash out and sleep in...the house will be crowded!

okay so this is gonna be my first thanksgiving as a vegetarian, now ill be having dinner with my family and they are BiG meat eaters..they eat the traditional dinner, plus tamales carnitas and other food. Now i dont wanna be a drag and ask them to make me a special dinner, or anything.so, What should i EAT?
