Ham is not the typical 1st choice for Thanksgiving; most folks go with turkey. But many of the traditional side dishes (at least the Southern ones) will also go with ham. Here are a few I thought of:

Potato salad
Macaroni & cheese (or any cheesy pasta dish)
Candied sweet potatoes or yams
Turnip greens (or mustard or collards)
Corn casserole
Cornbread
Broccoli rice casserole
Green bean casserole
Baked beans
Fruit salad

I probably wouldn't serve dressing unless I was having chicken or turkey, too.

I wouldn't do ALL of these of course, just pick 1-2 of your favorites from each of the food groups, and then add whatever desserts you like.

Here is my recipe for fruit salad that I always fix with ham.

1 can mandarin oranges, drained
1 can pineapple chunks, drained
1 can pear chunks, drained
3-4 sliced bananas
1 carton frozen sliced strawberries (thawed--keep the juice)
1 can peach pie filling

Optional (other canned fruits you like drained, chopped nuts, maraschino cherries, sliced seedless grapes)

The trick is in the peach pie filling to give it the sweetness & texture that holds together, and the strawberries to give it the rich color. The rest of the ingredients you can vary to taste, but the more fresh fruit you use, the crunchier & less sweet it will be.

You are making me hungry just thinking about it!

The same you would serve with Turkey, we always fix ham and turkey and always have the traditional sides--dressing, green bean cass, mashed potatoes, deviled eggs, rolls, sweet potato casseropl, and below is a pineapple casserole that WILL go great with Ham!

INGREDIENTS
1 cup butter
1 2/3 cups white sugar
6 eggs
1 (15 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
9 slices bread, cubed
1/3 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
Cream together butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time, until fully incorporated. Fold in pineapple and bread. Pour into 9x13 inch baking dish.
Bake in preheated oven 1 hour, until center springs back when touched lightly. Sprinkle cheese evenly over top and return to oven to melt cheese, 2 to 5 minutes
