Not all Americans complain about English food. It seems that when Americans go from the US to the UK, they will notice a lot of cultural differences. OTOH, for Americans living in non-English speaking countries, a visit to the UK (and eating British food) is very welcome and full of familiar things.

i change into born contained in the U.S. I lived there for very just about 30 years. i do not bear in mind listening to everybody "whinge about English/British nutrition". Irish nutrition, definite, yet no longer British. No offense meant, yet even as maximum human beings imagine of nutrition, they imagine, Italian, chinese language, French or Mexican. no longer British. I, for one, get excitement from countless British nutrition. i appreciate savory pies, shepherd's pie, Welsh sausages (i will go away it at that, i do not go with a contravention), and black pudding. And definite, Apple Pie is English even though it change into the Romans who presented pies commonly to the English. The renowned Parma Ham comes from a fashion of curing invented by farmers in what's now Britain. the position it comes from would not matter. in simple terms get excitement from it.

This American doesn't compain about English food at all. In fact, I've loved the meals I've had on trips to England. I've had delicious meals in small town pubs and great food in restaurants in London. And despite the odd-sounding name, "spotted dick" is really yummy. So no complaints here.
