My wife and I typically alternate years of spending Thanksgiving with each of our families. In 2005, we spent it with her family. Last year, circumstances were such that my family actually celebrated the day after, so we also spent Thanksgiving day with her family in 2006. She now believes that we should also be spending 2007 with her family because it is "her year". How do other people decide how to share holidays?

A colleague has just moved from Philadelphia to live here in the U.K. and she was telling me she is dreading not being home for thanksgiving. I thought it might be a nice thing to invite some friends round and have a celebration for her.

How do I do this properly? What do I cook? Any special traditions, customs to be observed etc,. Thanks for all advice.

I was thinking of giving Christmas aprons as a gift to several people this year and wondering if that would be something people would use or just put away.

Peole give more present on christmas, so after it, chances that you will buy smth are lower than after thanks giving. There for sales should be bigger after new year.

How come so many people think of Christmas as food and presents and decorations?????????????
When are people going to celebrate the real meaning of Christmas which is the birthday of Jesus?????????????????
I mean it is o.k. to have presents and food and decorations, but remember who you are really doing it for.
Remember the meaning!
