Black Friday is the Friday after Thanksgiving. It is when the retailers are all finally in the black for the first time during the fiscal year & it is the official start of the holiday shopping season.

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving. Traditionally, it is the beginning of the Holiday shopping season and there are some great bargains for those who want to get up early in the morning. Besides the extreme bargains for the early shoppers, there are usually good sale prices throughout the weekend and through Christmas. This year, Walmart reduced their merchandise to "Black Friday" pricing on Nov 2. They did not do the drastic, get in line at 3 am pricing, just their regular holiday deals. I noticed Toys R Us also had great deals last weekend, I'm sure other retailers will follow suit!

Black Friday is always the day after Thanksgiving. That's when all the store are having HUGE sales. You have two in a half weeks to go (Friday the 23rd).

It is the day after Thanksgiving when stores have big pre-Christmas sales. The legend is that the profits from that day turn their losses (red ink) into the black (black ink).
This year Walmart had that sale 3 weeks early. The other stores hopefully will be extra desperate by the time real Black Friday comes.

no some of the stores where just putting their hot items on sale ahead of time so that maybe there wouldnt be such a mess on the day after thanksgiving ..i think walmart only put their top5 items but they will also have them on the day after thanksgiving along with everything else
