I love that show "Everybody Hates Chris" they did a show about Kwanza and said the man that invented it is in jail for felony assult charges! Is this true? I don't know much about Kwanza, so any info would help.

The 25th December is always cold so I don't understand why God didn't make Jesus be born in July when it is warmer - why is this?

Am I the only person that gets bothered when people say Xmas instead of Christmas? I mean seriously what exactly are people celebrating when they celebrate "xmas" just a time of year where people get presents? I think people are forgeting the reason that we have this holiday. Christ is the reason for the seasn, and I wish people would realize this and stop saying Xmas. I'm sorry it just annoys me. Does this annoy you too? And if you're not a christian and you celebrate Christmas, why do you do that? explain please.

I would like to know what the official stance is within the Jewish community (both Orthodox and conservative), as far as attending Christmas parties is concerned? Is it considered 'taboo' or is it perfectly fine?

Allah says in Quran - sura 104
1. Woe to every kind of scandal-monger and backbiter.
2. Who piles up wealth and hoards it
3 Thinking that his wealth would make him last for ever!

Three vices have been condemned here.

What do you do if a group is backbiting.

I remember a certain one. Polar bears messing around and then drinking a bottle of coca-cola.

I also like the Hershey's kisses dingling the tune of "We Wish You A Merry Christmas."

Hey guys - I just got a belated advent calendar from someone at work.

Do I scoff all 12 chocolates now so I'm up to date or do I take it home and share them out with my hubby who doesn't have an advent calendar because I wouldn't buy one?

Sure, they may have certain practises which are quite uncommon and unknown to non-shiias, but that doesn't mean we can discriminate against them..they too are muslim; they are our brothers and sisters for goodness' sake!We keep lecturing about peace in iraq, world peace, this peace, that peace..what's the use if it is all talk and no action?isn't it hypocritical to do so, when the same people complain about being discriminated against?(i'm talking mostly about non-shiia muslims who do so..)

Big box, beautiful bow, small box, nice wrapping paper, weird shape....

Is it usually true? Or is the best looking gift usually the worst one?

this sunnah has been labeled 'Tahiyat al-Masjid'. Is this a separate prayer that must be done or can walking into the masjid and immediately joining the fard prayer be sufficient?

Last year I was frantically wrapping Christmas presents on Christmas day before meeting up with family for a BBQ lunch - LOL!

I told myself last year that I would not do the same thing this year, that I would be prepared.

I can see myself doing the same thing this year! It is hard. I run my own business and this time of year is very busy. I work longer hours than normal and although I buy the presents early I tend to put off wrapping them until the last minute.

I was lucky to get all my Christmas cards out last week! LOL.

I still have not put up our Christmas tree either... *grins*

I can't be the only person that does this, can I?
