Big box, beautiful bow, small box, nice wrapping paper, weird shape....

Is it usually true? Or is the best looking gift usually the worst one?

Without opening the gift, what specific things about it draw you to it?

Where it came from.

The appearance of the gift itself. The wrapper needs to be neat, but it doesn't matter big or small box. If you put a pair of tube socks in a nicest box ever, I'll never be convinced that this gift is expensive. On the other hand, I can tell real jewelry from dress jewelry without a second glance.

Without opening it - fancy wrapping paper, and how neatly it is wrapped. It grabs my attention first. Also, lack of cheesy decorations. A tasteful ribbon. If the gift is not that good then noone will bother wrapping it nicely, unless it's a practical joke.

I think it's when the gift is unwrapped and you see the brand..I don't care how much things cost that I get.

If the original price tag is still on it and the sale tag is peeled off.
