I sent an email to my dad yesterday asking him what he and his girlfriend would like for Christmas (I never know what to get them). I expected his return email to ask me what I wanted for Christmas, because I had asked him. Well, apparently he's not so quick on the uptake, so I'm wondering how to drop a hint without sounding like a brat.
My sister (2 years younger than me) has already asked for snow tires for Christmas from him, and is driving down to his town to get them put on today. She has a better--more understanding (on his part) relationship with him, there has always been some animosity between he and I. I am trying to repair our relationship, so I want to be nice, and not demanding an expensive present (I just want a sweater from Garnet Hill). While my sister gets $400 snow tires, I'm afraid to ask for a $150 present because of what our past relationship has been like. He's always gotten my sister the better presents. How can I ask in a good way for what I want?
