We are looking for a great background for our family photo for our Christmas cards this year. We were thinking of poinsettias but I don't think the flower fields have poinsettias this year. Any good suggestions?

I was just wondering what happens to the remaining names on the Salvation Army's Angel Trees. I saw two trees completely full at a local Walmart and the gifts had to be turned in by Dec. 1. I know that all those names are not going to be picked. Do these children get something?

We celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah in our house, as I am Jewish and hubby is Catholic. The kids are now 5 years old and cognizant of what's what as far as presents go. If you are in a mixed household how do you handle dividing up presents? If I give them each one present each night for eight nights for Hannukah, that means there won't be too big a bang as far as presents go on Christmas morning. I've thought about giving them one large or semi-large gift on the first night of Hanukkah and then just holding off on the rest until Christmas. But then what about when they hear there are "eight crazy nights?" I'm interested in how others handle this with their kids or how it was for them as children. Thanks!

I have a really tough family to buy for.

I have one older sister, an older brother, my mom, and my dad.

So far, I only know what I'm getting my mom and sister.

Mom: Portrait of my family, candle gift basket, and a bowl she wanted.

Sister: Ipod shuffle, and perhaps jewelry?

Dad: I have no clue. He hates any modern technology, and really doesn't need any new clothes. He enjoys yardwork and the outdoors.

Brother: This guy has everything known to mankind. He's got an ipod, big screen TV, new laptop, and the whole bit. He enjoys paintball, and stuff for his new car, so I was thinking something along those lines.

Any help will be VERY much appreciated!!!!

I'm not talking about being nicer than usual, I'm talking about giving to charity, visiting nursing homes, inviting lonely college students to dinner, etc. I've done benevolence and volunteer work for years. At Christmas people are falling over each other to help; then the rest of the year--poof! They vanish, but the sick, lonely, and hungry still need help. What would it take to get people to spread the love around a little more?

My work has a contest for christmas hats. Last year I did a christmas tree on my head and won by a long shot. This year however I heard a bunch of people are plotting against me. I need ideas for a killer christmas hat.... If I can't come up with something better I will do a christmas package on my head......

Salaams,

I'm Muslim who was born in America ( and I live in America).
I notice that many Muslims from the Middle East and India living in America are now celebrating Christmas.

I was raised Muslim in America, and I grew up knowing that Christmas is a Christian holiday all about the worship of Jesus as "god" and the "son of God". My family did not allow anyone to give me gifts when I was growing up, and my family explained that we are Muslims and we dont celebrate Christmas. Now, I see Muslims buying trees, taking their kids to the mall to take pictures with Santa Claus and everything!

Although I respect the right of Christians to celebrate Christmas of course--it surprises me to see MANY Muslims now beginning to celebrate it. WHY are you doing this???

(I Know people say its because they want to buy their kids gifts but come on: This is teaching kids the WRONG things, dont you think? )

I went to see them live in Sac on Nov. 25th and during the second 1/2 of the show (after the Christmas Story) they played a song I know I have heard before, (not one of theirs) the lights were all Red in the background and it sounded evil, (sorry, but it WASN'T cheery) I think it was Latin, and their singers all sang together. Any idea what it was?
