I was just wondering what happens to the remaining names on the Salvation Army's Angel Trees. I saw two trees completely full at a local Walmart and the gifts had to be turned in by Dec. 1. I know that all those names are not going to be picked. Do these children get something?

At our church, there are a few congregation members, who combining their own money and some church funds, buy the additional gifts needed.
We always make sure that every child gets a gift one way or another. Sometimes, I also have wondered about other organisations, and what they do. I am sure that occasionally there are children who miss out, and my heart is heavy for those children.
Enquire at Walmart, they may contribute gifts as well, under these circumstances.
This is a very thoughtful question, and I feel you are a very compassionate person.
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.

I used to work for a Baptist ministry center. At "the zero hour" charities and churches would pitch in together to share resources. It was kind of a "hey, we've got extra mittens you can have. Has your agency got any toys left?" kind of deal. People work like fiends (or should I say angels?) to make sure those children aren't left out, but it's hard work, and I can't swear that someone doesn't get left out occasionally. Bless you for noticing and asking!
